Yes we captured Saddam, however:

Bush still signed McCain/Feingold
Bush still signed the Farm bill
Bush still enacted steel tariffs
Bush still signed the Medicare bill

Mind you, I don't think the President should veto bills. Overusing the veto creates apathy about congressional races since it make the president look like an autocrat. However, this is still a bad track record from the only major political party that at least quasi supports free markets and the constitution.

McCain/Feingold is a direct violation of the first amendment.

The farm bill is not only against western market theory but I can't find anything in constitution that gives the federal goverment the authority it exercises in the bill.

The medicare program attempts to fix a program the federal government had no authority to create in the first place. At least it tries to create competition of sorts but the bill is a mess.

Now, some of the rest of you have criticisms of the patriot act, the restrictions on government funding of stem cell research, and other pieces of policy.

Bush is still Bush. He is a mixed bag of pros and cons like any president. Just because we nabbed Saddam does not guarantee his head on currency.
