There is a book that claims to prove the documents "discovered"
under Gorbachov, and published under Yeltsin, "proving" the Soviets were
responsible for the Katyn massacres of Polish officers, are forgeries.
The book is Katynskii Detektiv, by Yuri Mukhin.

Personally, I don't claim that this is the most important question.
Mukhin doesn't, either, and he (and others) have written much other
stuff since, on other topics. But it is a topic! The book has got
wide publicity, made the Russian and Polish government upset.

On top of it all, it's very, very well done! That doesn't mean it's
conclusive. But I've read it - twice - and have changed my opinion from
"the Soviets did it", to "the question is not settled."

Anyway, in the case of this book, there is a summary, in English, on the
web. At least you can get an idea of what the book is about, and of the
argument. It's at

Oh, question not settled now? I guess you have alternate theories about how all those people transformed from the alive condition to the dead condition. Could be a Jonestown style mass suicide, but then there's the question of how they got buried. Hmmm. I'm leaning towards aliens. But I'm just glad to know you have recourse for your desparate longing for Stalinist nightmare to not be true.

Hysterical revisionism, bankrupt-marxism style.

Huziwhatsis, you remind me of the lunatic right in this country that claims that this country was founded on Christian principles. You remind me of the revisionists who deny the holocaust in Germany.

In short, you remind me of somebody who isn't very well attached to reality at all.

Perhaps multiple Tunguska-like meteor explosion events killed those 40,000,000+ people?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it the Germans, the dreaded maniacal enemies of the peaceful Soviet state, that discovered and proved that the Katyn massacre of the Polish soldiers was actually perpetrated by the Soviets? In 1943 or so? And that they used it for propaganda purposes shortly thereafter?

So I'm failing to see the relevance of any "recently discovered evidence" about this subject... Unless it's just all crap on Huzington's part, of course!
