Sorry, just a rant of mine I need to get out.
Several of my close family and friends have the habit of whenever they have a disease for which they get some treatment to look up the details on the internet to know what they are dealing with.
Now I understand that, of course you want to know some of the details.
What angers me is that the majority of the initial hits in google are always in the same trend.
1: The symptom COULD be what your doctor told you, but REALLY its Incurable cancer/HIV/Other invariably lethal disease
2: You have 2 months to live (if that)
3: Your GP is lying to you because that is what they all do
4: Medicines made after extensive tests and with proven results are part of a conspiracy. Insteat take either pure water, or this herbal medicine which has less of the same active ingredient plus 100 unidentified others which may or may not be harmful because we haven't tested them.
Which means that I then have to look up the disease on reputable websites and in papers to reassure them.
I don't suppose anyone knows of any filter in the style of porn filters that can block the majority of medical conspiracy websites?
