The chupacabra is back. Found in a barn in Texas, he's now on ice in a local taxidermist's office. Read all about it on CNN, and watch the video:

I think it looks more like a whippet than anything that supernaturally goes around sucking the life out of goats:

Such a cute dog. Is that the face of a bad, goatsucking dog? Nooooo, that's the face of a gooooood little dog :(

But it can't be anything natural because a taxidermist said the front legs were too long.

You just know he's going to stuff poor Whippy into the "Attack" mount :(

Looks like a coyote with rather severe mange to me.

I guess the reporter's budget didn't extend to bringing along a zoologist or veterinarian to view the remains (which had excellent teeth available for DNA testing, if they REALLY believed it was some extraordinary creature). :(

It's not on ice either...it's on his porch.
I thought this was going to be an ice capades thread.

Is this going to be an Escapades production, or something put on by Disney? Wait, let me read the op now.....

I agree about the coyote with mange idea. I had a coyote with mange show up in my yard and this does look just like the creature I had in my yard - a coyote.
I even have goats available for sucking, and yet the coyote was after a dead pigeon. Sorry, not convinced, and how sad that someone can't recognize a coyote when they see one.

It's a coyote with mange.
There was another one (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,295481,00.html) two years ago that looked identical.

Seems like it had an awful lot of black, healthy fur on its snout for an animal with mange. Anyway, whippet, coyote with mange, doesn't really matter as long as we're all agreed that it isn't a chupacabra :p

There is no fur. It's just black, crusty skin. These are coyotes, not domestic or feral dogs. In the east, you get more foxes with mange.

Agreed. It is a canine and the only 'unknown' is exactly what kind. The goats of the world remained unsucked.

Whatever that is a pic of it sure looks like the one on the guys porch. I want him to get some DNA and look at the guts and blood.

Sorry I didn't mention that was a coyote with mange.
You are correct it does look almost exact.
I also found it disconcerting that this "news" made it on the headline section of Yahoo.

An update on CNN today says the taxidermist has received death threats since the news broke about his critter--which he now suggests is a mutant coyote.
Now, why on earth would anyone threaten him over this?!
