Okay, I'm not going to pretend I found this one on my own-- the credit goes to someone in our Nashville Atheists Group! ;) But... wow. I mean, I've seen some bad creationist vids, but this one is a truly shining example. From the bad camera work to the officious expert to the unspeakably horrible theme song (which pretty much proves the existence of Satan all by itself, actually) to cheesy footage of giraffes, to quoting Kent Hovind as a scientist, to showing how Hitler and polar bears are responsible for the sinister spread of evil... enjoy. :) Here it is! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cpNjyVvqK0&feature=rec-HM-r2) (Yes, I know, there's a way to directly imbed a Youtube video. I'm not sure what it is. Um... JREF is in no way responsible for the content of this video or the opinions expressed therein. Is that okay?)

So far, I have observed:
- Bare assertion
- Circular logic
- Strawman
- Poisoning the well
- Argument ad hominem
- Flat-out lying
- Definition-switching
- Argument from ignorance
- Quoting out of context
And on the peppered moths:
No peppered moths have ever been observed resting on tree trunks during the day.
Then where did you get your video?
In short, it's 100%, pure, grade-A, USDA-approved bull****.

ExtantDodo Productions to the rescue! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGND4bEOtS8)
Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuVDB1Zxuc8)
Anyone know when (or if) we can expect the next ExtantDodo analysis?

I first commented on that video when it first came out nearly 3 years ago. The "music" sets the tone for the video.

love the entree
"make sure you check the facts"
coupled with
"don't listen to the media or evolutionists"
wait so who do I check the facts with
and
"don't be like cattle"
so try not to get involved in any event that requires I am in a stall
"don't take the word of anyone in a lab coat with doctor in front of his name"
ok I'm scared now, it sounds like shes trying to tell me satan has given me cancer
so err, I should check the facts by asking idiots who can't make a statement without contradicting themselves and who aren't qualified to comment on any subject
thats me sold, wheres the nearest government office
:D

Oh. That one.
Ugh.
Well, I suppose that if it was worth linking to once, it's an oldie but goodie and worth bringing back for a fresh generation of viewers! :)

I wish there were a word that could just express my disgust at this sort of thing, and show my love for the country of my birth. I have decided that the word that expresses all of this is "buffalo".
The craziness is just getting too weird for me, so I have made a conscious decision to ignore the religious right, and enjoy my friends (religious or not) for the remainder of my life.

11 minutes of my life. And several IQ points.
Is that really the kind of bla. bla. bla. feed to USA christians?
(I did not take notes like Pure Argent, but the list looks reasonable accurate)
