Although I will be within driving distance on Sept. the 11th, I prefer to, and already have, payed my respects at a time of my choosing. A time where I did not have to endure the ignorant idiots in black tee-shirts. I prefer to think about those who were lost, those who loved them, and those who have to answer for their actions. In a world filled with terrorists who know no limits, I find "troofers" to be an unsavory, disgusting spectacle and a distraction that should be avoided, and ignored.

So, you're going to let those little terrorists prevent you from experiencing an awe-inspiring memorial?? I understand how you feel though. Luckily, this yeaar, there most likely wont be many, or any at all. Thankfully.

No Tri,
They don't prevent me from doing anything. The day I spent at the WTC site not long ago was certainly awe-inspiring, and somber. I understand what you are saying. The patience and tolerance you have shown towards these people is something I admire. But, it is also unfortunately, something I do not have right now. It is better for me to not be around when they congregate. There's absolutely no implied threat here. It's just common sense to not be around those who will get in your face and attempt to provoke you. For those of you who maintain an even strain around these people, who tolerate them, you have my admiration. I know this is a particularly difficult anniversary for you Tri, and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
But, I know myself, I know my limits. I will not be provoked, and I will not be there. Perhaps later, this will change. They say time heals all.

P.S. I hope you are right about the troofers, I hope there are very few, even none who show up.

Katie, a lady I work with, is going to be in NYC on 9/11. I did mention 9/11 to her, and that if she happened to be at Ground Zero on that date, she could flip the bird at any Twoofers assembled there. Personally, if I were there, I think I'd prove Lupie and Triforcharity's reticence very wise indeed.

Unfortunately, I can't make it this year. I'll content myself with my favorite memory from 2006; walking past a Truther being interviewed at GZ and saying softly, but directly into the microphone, "you realize this guy is full of (rule10), don't you?"

Sorry. Might film my local Truth group though, or just ask them a few questions.

Oh lovely, there’s some alt-med conference in my city and the Truthers are going to piggyback on it.

Pearl harbor isn't either. I see your point but, I don't agree that it should be a national holiday. Remember it yes, set it up as a party holiday (in years to come) no.

It looks like I might be able to make it. Someone who knows the city ought to suggest a tavern & time to hoist a brew.

I'm trying to make it. In any case, the bar started by retired firemen after 9/11 is a couple blocks from Ground Zero. I cased the joint a while ago. They serve a good pint and the bar food looks good. You couldn't tell who owned it by the decor and clientele when I was there, a Friday night. The manager confirmed it was what I thought it was but I had to ask.

There are two "big" Twoof events, the one I know more about is in the East Village, a bus or a subway ride away.

I have had a few pints there myself. Great place, and the food is in fact quite good. I mean, really, its fireman that own it. Those guys can cook!!

It appears that tomorrow, 9/11 is going to rain all day. Right now I think I'm going to bail (out).

I'll be in the general area for NECSS. Not sure if I'll get there or not.
