I haz a halo, because I didn't just start hitting people with my bag and saying "what are you all totally nuts?" at the first ever Exeter UFO festival. Note the crowds. Yep...rather lame, though the talks were well attended.

Are those antennae poking through your hat?
ETA: It also looks like there's a faint orb directly over your head.
ETA again: and it looks like there's the face of a lion inside the orb.

those are alien eyes...
it's my alien protection hat that keeps me from being abducted
it's what all the smart skeptics are wearing!http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/oo28/kittynh/Mexico%20The%20Amazing%20Adventure%204/cruisepeopleinhats.jpg

But it's not made of tinfoil.

I wanna know what that little white alien with the black spots is doing? climbing up the base of that tree, in broad daylight. Cheeky bugger!

How many talk shows have you been booked for so far? (Hey, we've seen worse evidence go much further!)

Sadlly I was not talking, just attending talks. Talks by people with BOOKS to sell. Like the neice of Betty and Barney Hill, who has been living off their story for years.
zzzzzz...I lasted at her talk for all of 10 minutes before I ran out of fingers and toes to count all the inaccuracies and untruths and just plain silliness.
The "parade" downtown consisted of 3 kids and myself. I was asked to join in as I had a kind of "costume" on. It wasn't until late afternoon anyone with a decent costume showed up. In New Hampshire, we just don't have enough crazy types.

THIS was the "festival". One NEFRON van, a tv table with a few copied pages from the Historic society, and the Kiwanas were selling hot dogs and drinks. They were not doing a booming business. I also heard complaints people weren't buying a lot of books. But the talk was well attended, the town hall was full up for the Hill talk. It was pretty horrible, Barney's "scuffed shoes" were seen as evidence of abduction ..."how could they have been scuffed?" (well, he did walk into a field to examine the saucer?). I dunno, messy shoes is proof enough for most people.

On the plus side, I see I'm not too late for the EMS Kick'n into Gear 5K Road Race.

LOVE your hat. And good for you showing such self-restraint.
At least they quoted you saying "silly", although "lame" would have been better. And this caught my eye:
...and created their own UFOs out of recycled material strewn about the park.
You people in New England call trash "recycled material" or is that just a UFO phenomenon?
Anyway be glad you don't live in Taos! I think we have a lot more "believers" here although when a recent UFO proponent was interviewed on the radio she was upset at how many unbelievers there are here. I suppose it's one of those half full/half empty things... like the UFO people at your event, who felt the turn out was great when it was about 10 people or something...

I did tell the reporter it was "lame". They were doing a fluff piece to promote the event.
