Attention all Mid-atlanteans and anyone else who wants to visit the nation's capital:

On October 4, 2009, starting at noon, the first Robert G. Ingersoll oratory contest will be held in Washington, DC at Dupont Circle. There are still spaces available for contestants, so please sign up if you are interested in participating. Check out the fabulous prizes! In any case, plan to come watch what should be an amusing event. There may be an opportunity to go out for a drink afterwards if anyone is interested.

Details can be found at:

http://ingersollcontest.wordpress.com/announcement/

Contact info is there, or PM me if you have questions; I'm on the organizing committee.

Note that the event is outdoors in the park at the actual circle. There will be a small tent for contestants and judges in case of rain, but not enough room for spectators. So dress for the weather, and bring an umbrella, folding chair, anything else you'd need to be comfortable.

Bumping my own post because it's only two days away. The weather is supposed to cooperate, so please bring a folding chair and come join us this Sunday at noon in Dupont Circle, Washington, DC. I hope to see some forum members there.
