You have to give the man credit for being willing to put his beliefs to the test. At least he didn't spend a lifetime making anti-bullet charms for others only to get THEM killed.

IIRC, the JREF won't test anyone who might harm themselves as a result of the test.

Probably for fear of this exact thing happening.
