The HOR and Senate just didn't make any new laws next session.

I'd like it.

Why, exactly?

I was looking over the website of the Office of the Clerk and came to a realization that most of the things that these guys are doing anount to sillyness. Pass the budget (hopefully shrink it at the same time) and get the hell out.

I mean I don't remember clammoring for

H.R. 3652: to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to modify the taxation of imported archery products

H.R. 622: to provide for the exchange of certain lands in the Coconino and Tonto National Forests in Arizona, and for other purposes

H.R. 1012: to establish the Carter G. Woodson Home National Historic Site in the District of Columbia, and for other purposes

H. Con. Res. 345: authorizing the printing as a House document of the transcripts of the proceedings of "The Changing Nature of the House Speakership: The Cannon Centenary Conference", sponsored by the Congressional Research Service on November 12, 2003

H. Res. 474:
relating to a question of the privileges of the House

and so on...this was just from one days activities. Sillyness.

Some of these resolutions are procedure, others may be important to other people, just not you. That's why representatives run the country, and not you.

Yes, because then it would be a benevolent dictatorship (like my home, oh yeah...its my wife who is the benevolent dictator). I wouldn't have silly men attempting to sound important and intelligent getting paid increadible salaries while overstepping the bounds of the constitution in doing so.:)

I think the politicians are just responding to their constituents that continually beleaguer them with requests for things like that
and they have to respond because their main purpose is getting re-elected

What a dream, what a dream!

All I can say is that when Gerald Ford brought most lawmaking to a total and complete halt for 18 months, inflation dropped, the economy revived, and people stopped throwing stones at each other.

Were the two related?

Elliphino!

I don't get it. None of the stuff you listed was "bad", it's just menial stuff that has to be taken care of. What's the problem, exactly?
