Australia is about to be hit with this:

Atheist Nexus is hitting back:

Pope Ratslinger made no difference to the interest in Religion in Australia. In fact it has dwindled. As I said in another thread, Australians do not tolerate BS. I cant see this new campaign doing any better.

Just goes to show the money the Catholic church has at hand. My company is embarking on a TV ad campaign for October. It will cost us nearly $2million. Peanuts to the Micks.

You are misreading the letter J as d. The stylised form of that letter in the artwork might be confusing to some.

Don't blame me; I'm only the messenger.

Why? Aussies will ignore it. They are following a more important religion -Football. The finals are on. Then there is the Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne culminating in the Melbourne Cup, the horse race that stops a nation.

Simple solution: ask the jesus crew to prove their belief in the power of the bible when it says at luke 10:19 "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Then let them loose near some funnel web burrows and chuck some king browns at them...

(ok, I know the funnelweb isn't a scorpion... but if a rabbit can chew cud, then a spider can do the job!)

Ask and ye shall receive. Just head on down to my neck of the woods (more or less; it's Cleveland, TN (http://www.knowledgerush.com/kr/encyclopedia/Church_of_God_(Cleveland)/) or deeper into Appalachia to see snake and scorpion handling. (http://www.freewebs.com/holiness-snake-handlers/) Strychnine and arsenic drinking too. And sticking fingers in electrical sockets. (No, I'm really not kidding about that one. I've also heard something about propane torches and... I don't want to know. I just don't. ) These are the Church of God with Signs Following, and the Church of the Lord Jesus with Signs Following... probably some others; it's usually known as the Apostolic movement. (They usually go by Mark 16:15-18 rather than Luke, btw.)I'm not sure you'll find any of this in Australia, though.

Meh, they tried building a city full of churches and what happens? It's the least religious capital city in the country.

An interesting site, Maia.
I'd never read anything quite like it.
Can a Christian still get a blessing from GOD if they cast out demons, heal the sick and speak in tongues, while they knowingly, out of arrogance, exclude the handling of serpents and drinking strychnine? I would say an emphatic "No".

So that's what, Rob or Bob in heiroglyphics? Or your initials, perhaps?

So the three items are:

1. A cigarette some idiot stupidly lit in the middle instead of the end
2. An owl looking at you
3. A murderous-looking steak knife sticking up in the air

C O K? Hehe, that turned out funnier than I intended.

I like this:

Pray to god to see that he reveals to you that this is the truth and wait for further instructions by him as what to do next.

In other words, if God truly loves you, he will inspire you to stick your hand in a rattlesnake's mouth or a box full of scorpions.

Ohh-kay.

They are the hieroglyps for HOTEP meaning "Peace". It is an ancient Egyptian salutation .http://forums.randi.org/imagehosting/338944a84aa90d2878.png (http://forums.randi.org/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=17227) H T P

I honestly don't know about the murder by rattlesnake, but the best part has to be the list of things they don't believe in. It includes such winners as going to the hospital, taking medications, celebrating little kids' birthdays, engaged couples holding hands before the wedding, and watching TV, listening to the radio, or reading newspapers. And yet somehow, creating a web page with giant-Jesus wallpaper is apparently okay.

mainly because of the getting up early part

Most Australians in my experience are apatheists. They'll see these ads and go "huh" and wonder why Jesus has to advertise.

Ah yes, Carlos.... that was hilarious. As I remember it, it was a big gotcha on the media and their inability to do their job and do a shred of actual research. While we do have true believers and true skeptics, most of the people I know tend to be apathetic towards religion....walk into a pub wearing the wrong colours at the wrong time of year though - that's a different story.

Ohh-kay.

But who could doubt such a thing?
It says so in my bible, Mark 16, 17-18.
As clear as clear can be.
And there's no question it's the word of god because it's from the KJV.
And let's not forget the ability to drink poisons and come to no harm.
All promised by god himself.

Obviously, any critisism of these practises is a sure sign of the Western world's degeneracy, isn't it?

Homeopathy is quackery. I say that from my mother's personal experience with one - recommended by some NUNS! This "doctor' was selling her little bottles of coloured water at outrageous prices.
