View Full Version : The Number 9

With all the numerology following the 9/9/09, and half the world already there, here on the other side a post a rubbish prediction based on bugger all:

A great deception
The outcry loud
But blinkered.

Which of course means and stands for bugger all, and is really just a generic doomsday prediction. Of course, if it comes true, I get to say 'I told you so!' but because there isn't actually enough detail to discern what is actually being predicted, I doubt I need bother.

But this is how the day is for me. How is/was/will the day (be) to you?

Try for the most ridiculous day possible without going overboard, all the while embedding as much and many paranormal events, conspiracies, and quirky references as possible. Winner gets The Oak Island Treasure (must collect).

Intended as something to give the mind a workout, points will be awarded for rhymes, realism, quotes, quatrains, and the least heard of conspiracy theory upon the web (link required).

And if you haven't figured out this is just for fun, then you are a blind monkfish.

Mind, if any of the mods can figure a better prize than The Oak Island Treasure (a title perhaps?) prize donations are always welcome. Oh, and apologies if I have put my thread in the wrong place.

Woe befalls 09.09.09
Tragedy, collapse and crime
Raging weather, drying wells
Thunderstorms with sunny spells
It comes to pass, the future's set

I'll be back tomorrow to see how I did. :D

Tragedy befalls the day of nines
As told by those who read the signs
So lock your doors and pull the blinds
Least everyone lose their minds

The NWO too soon comes hither
You can even follow it on Twitter
To make zombies of those it kills
With its superior texting skills

The web too is all alight
About the coming date
So start your own website
Before it is too late

Fear not that you will be left out
For there are other dates to tout
"10/10/10 10:10" will cry the rout
When nothing tomorrow comes about

09:09 am or pm which will it be
The time of this calamity
If the evil find it so nice
Perhaps it can happen twice

Of the coming beast
Too soon, I would say
Five days too soon, at least
Wait till after my birthday

Man... the Oak Island treasure... it's just such a beautiful self-contained example of fantasy vs. critical thinking. The (true version of) the story should be taught to all school children as an example of how people mislead each other and themselves in the pursuit of wealth...

Disclaimer: when I was in my early teens and read about the story in some anthology of The World's Greatest Mysteries I absolutely *loved* it. I researched it properly a few years back and I still love it because it's such a great story of human imagination, credulity and invention.

When the eclipse of the Sun will then be

Times good to bad, the sweet for the bitter

Through rain afterwards, which will do them much harm

To the bloody one the numbers are reported

Still alive, no problems at all.

Travelled by plane and car, all OK.

Prophecy FAIL!

Soccer fans from Argentina might disagree!:D

The good thing about this prophecy is that I was so worried with it that I missed it entirely.

Well Google didn't use my logo... So I guess I failed too.

Not sure if anyone has changed their 09/09/09 predictions to 10/10/10 yet, so maybe I've still got a shot.

Hmmm... can anyone pull up some marraige/birth/death figures? I'm sure marraige will be shot through the roof.

Well it's two days later and this is the first I heard there were any prophecies or anything other than the big Beatles reissue associated with 9/9/09. I guess I don't read the right websites.

I heard an odd one about how 9/11 was 911, the American emergency telephone number, so the next disaster would take place on the 9/9/09, because 999 is the British emergency number. Which doesn't make sense.

I have never seen making sense to be much of an impediment to such prognostications.

So anything much happen over there last week?
