I do feel that people are less charitable then perhaps they could be, but this time of year I am just overwhelmed by the generosity of ordinary people who want to Adopt a Family at our shelter. Our families have been to four parties National Association of Black Accountant, TEP fraternity, American Legion Post 71, and the local police department where they get a meal and gifts. That small list does not compare to the people who just call us and ask for names to adopt and then they go and get stuff for the residents, alocal grocery store, some bussinesses and private individuals. It just amazes me how sweet people are to want to give stuff to the victims of domestic violence and thier children.

Thank You, Thank You Thank You

(I do send a thank you flyer with pictures by the kids as well)

And yes this does belong on the P&CE gforum, is is a current issue.

There's nothing wrong with charity ... as long as it winds up in your pocket. -- Ferengi Rule of Acquisition #144

If one third of my paycheck wasn't confiscated by the govermnent, I could, and would, be more charitable.

Charity is something that results from personal conviction and not because you have "spare" change.
