WNYC is (surprise) New York's NPR outlet and on 9/11/2001, their facilities were close to WTC. One of their reporters, Beth Fertig, was an eyewitness and in some writing and reporting , she used the word "explosion" metaphorically. Twoofers quote-mined her words and via google she was later surprised to see herself mis-quoted in places she had no idea existed.

One Twoofer called her repeatedly in an attempt to get Fertig to say she heard man-made explosions.

The audio (6 minutes) is in the link, below inspite of the fact that it says "TRANSCRIPT".

For 9/11 conspiracy theorists, the anniversary of the attacks functions as a PR peg for spreading their version of what happened that day. WNYC's Beth Fertig is taking special note this year, after discovering that her reporting from September 11, 2001 is being used as evidence on conspiracy theorist websites and literature.

OTM also mentioned the fake Sheen story but probably not in that segment.

Ahh...I see the New York NWO office is doing a nice job. Got her to reverse her story. Guess she didn't want those images from college coming out. Nice work guys. That should throw a wrench in the gears for the truthers.

Actually, she was for sale rather cheaply. The High Council doesn't pay the NPR staff very much.

All I had to do was show up with a paper bag full of Ameros and she was on the team.

We also found her a nice co-op in Park Slope that's close to the F-train and the good falafel place.

I'm an Israeli from New Jersey and I was dancing for joy when I heard this on the radio.

BOB GARFIELD: So it seems to me that we have discovered the difference between conspiracy theorists and reporters. Both methodically assemble facts and both may actually enter a story with a notion or a premise. The reporter will assemble all the facts and use that to try to flesh out the truth. A conspiracy theorist only keeps the facts that support his or her theory. Is that what it comes down to?

Sums it up.
