Over on Orangemane.com I've challenged Mark Gaffney (who many of you may know) to bring his troofer theories to this forum. He has of course found every excuse in the book not to.

Since Muhammed is too afraid to go to the mountain, I was wondering if any of you folks would be interested in taking the mountain to Muhammed?

If you decline it's cool.

BTW, I've been following the debates here and I am very impressed. Keep up the good work!

Where have I seen this before.

Didn't we discuss this guys etc... in another thread a little while ago?

I assume the reason this "Mohammed" doesn't want to come to this particular "mountain" is that he's too busy presenting his case to scientists, demolition experts, structural engineers, professional societies, trade unions, professors, insurance investigators, police detectives, district attorneys, intelligence agencies, investigative journalists, media editors, first responders organizations, diplomats, architects, safety managers, religious leaders, community leaders, and so forth.

If that's so, then his activities must eventually intersect our professional lives and we can engage him then.

If that's not so, and he won't even come here to make his case, then his claims, ideas, and opinions are utterly irrelevant.

Respectfully,
Myriad

Of course they are. But that's no different from any of the troofers you guys debate here.

Yes I've brought him up before. Gaff is the author of "The 9-11 Mystery Plane and The Vanishing of America." He loves to pop up on Orangemane to shovel out his nonsense to us laypeople, but I think he should take on more challenging targets.

Agreed, but the snake oil salesmen rarely try to sell their wares to the truly informed...doesn't work for them when people use logic, rationality, and intelligence.

Yeah, that's my question too. Is this a Denver Broncos forum?

ETA: I registered. Looks like you guys are doing a great job over there!

Looks like it. Wasn't this site discussed on here before?

Anyway, I can't even view it without registering.

Yes, it's a football subforum. Gaff is of course too afraid to try his nonsense anywhere where he might be at a disadvantage.

Thanks! We do our best, even though most of us don't have any background in engineering, physics, etc. Many of Gaff's arguments are so full of obvious holes they are easy for any rational person to counterargue.

But still, there are many which require an expert opinion. You guys would do a much better job than any of us could.

I know Randi likes a good fight, but does this board encourage board wars? I am nothing like a mod and am asking that as a question.

I don't see how this qualifies as a "board war." I think you'll find that you'll be welcomed with open arms by most posters over there, and most on Orangemane think very highly of JREF.

i never register at forums where you can't even see what the forums are about (thought about Broncos...I still wont sign up )

for a "community' to foster involvement, you should allow at least a sneak peak

I particularly hate forums that require you to register just to see the front page. NOT a way to run a forum

Actually I am surprised at how much the non-Truther members know about the Troofers over there. And they allow some real insulting over there; of course I'm far too polite to do it myself, but it's a pleasure to see the gloves come off among fellow debunkers.

Yeah I'm reading the thread and a lot seem to be pretty well informed.

Is this just a Broncos fans thing? I'm not good with sports.

Like most fora, it has a place for the folks to thrash it out on topics not necessarily related to the main purpose of the board. This is a skeptics forum, but you'll find a lot of people (including occasionally myself) leaving Occam's razor at the door in the politics sub-forum. You may not realize it, but there's a Sports sub-forum here as well.

Jerry Jones will shut down the internet if I join a Broncos forum. It sucks living under a dictator. :)
