I have no idea if this movie has been discussed here before. I wish I were in Los Angeles so I could attend the premier of this new movie called "The Living Matrix."

It looks like a high budget/low IQ documentary about the benefits of....I don't know. Look at the trailer yourselves:

I wish I could be there to question the filmmakers and the "healers" who will be present.

I'm particularly disturbed by how they are co-opting the term "Placebo Effect."

Go if you can. It's ten bucks at 8pm at the Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Blvd this Wednesday night. Here is their website (the listing for the movie is at the bottom of this page):

Good luck if you go. And report back.

Man I wish I could be there. It looks like delicious poison.

"1/3 of allopathy has nothing to do with the process, but has to do with the placebo effect".

Disgusting.

Sounds like another version of the, "all you have to do is believe" fantasy sometimes referred to as the power of positive thinking that comes out in a new book format every couple years and makes someone a ton of money off desperate people and wishful thinkers who are looking for fantasy hope.

This one looks particularly bad because it preys on the desperately ill.

I'll spend my extra money on lotto, thankyou. ;)

Yeah, you're probably right. It's not worth giving them $10 to watch this. On the other hand, Hallowe'en is coming up. 'Tis the season for a scary movie.

P.S. skeptigirl, regarding your signature, I have started using the term 'Publican Party. It almost makes a political party sound fun.
