This week's commentary reminded me of an interesting anecdote of mine, from just a few days ago:

My nose gets very dry during the winter, and therefore, I get a lot of nose bleeds. My girlfriend and I stopped by the nearest RiteAid to see if there was some sort of moisturizing nasal spray to help stop my nose bleeds. When we got the aisle, after disregarding the "addicitve" nasal sprays, we picked out one brand that seemed to be exactly what I wanted - moisturizing nasalspray. The steep price (about $15!!) led me to a closer inspection of the box, upon which I spotted the words "Homeopathatic" printed in the corner (in fact, I'm betting it was the same "Zicam" brand Randi features in his commentary). I turn to my girlfriend and say,
"Honey, this is homeopathic"
"Well, what is that supposed to mean?"
"It means it doesn't work!"

Just found that amusing... I ended up going with the $2 saline solution spray... :p
