What time is the LCROSS mission scheduled to impact the moon tonight? I live in the eastern United States and would like to see if I can view it with my 6" reflector.

Supposed to impact about 7:30 am. I don't think it will be visible from the east coast, but NASA TV will be broadcasting live video from the Shepherding Spacecraft.

Good links here (http://www.astromart.com/news/news.asp?news_id=997).

They might tweak the times slightly, so be sure to check the NASA links.

You can get a great overview @ NASA-Home... read some of the posts on the LCROSS page- people are still calling it a 'bomb' and ignoring all the other impact sites. Go figure.....

There are supposed to be a pair of impacts, the first at 7:31 and the second at 7:35 eastern time. Stinking rotating planet.
