View Full Version : Shiva's invitation

Kensington Bailey
9th October 2009, 03:28 PM
Hello,

I am writing on behalf of internet persona "Shiva2999," who frequents this site as a lurker, but who regularly posts on buffalorange.com. Buffalo Range is a website dedicated to sports teams in the Buffalo, NY area, but also includes forum topics such as "Politics, Religion and Sex." In that forum, PRS, Shiva2999 has regularly requested that I post an invitation here, to ask JREF members to debate with him his 911 CT support there. As a person who feels that his repeated efforts to make this request of me have consumed more energy than it takes for me to humor him, I feel it is reasonable to comply.

Some things about Shiva2999:

He has a great disdain for JREF members who utilize his own verbally abusive style.
He will goad people into responses with exaggeration, personal attacks, etc.
He uses his disdain for philosophical skepticism as a broad brush for any skepticism.

If I were to coin a new acronym for him, it would be FERJ, for suoivbo reasons.

I can understand if no one wants to give him a try. But if you do, you could consider it an experiment in maintaining civility in the face of his attempts to derail you.

www.buffalorange.com

I will put a thread there entitled "Welcome JREF members" in the Politics, Religion and Sex Forum.

Skeptically,

Kensington Bailey

Before anyone goes there, notice that Shiva2999 doesn't seem to know (http://www.buffalorange.com/showpost.php?p=2511175&postcount=7) what is stupid about this video. (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=155419) Also note, from an earlier post in that thread, he doesn't seem to realize the video was posted as a joke.

Make your decision accordingly.

He then posts a link to the Onion video with the CT guy debating the AQ guy (http://www.buffalorange.com/showpost.php?p=2511388&postcount=14). I'm not sure if that's a joke or not....

And the vast majority of JREFers are Republicans. (http://www.buffalorange.com/showpost.php?p=2511787&postcount=19)

Not a spammer. But, I understand a spammer would say just that. My name, Kensington Bailey, is the intersection in Buffalo close to where Paul Kurtz's publishing company is. Back in the 80's, I was his student, and Randi came to our class. I also went over to the publishing company and bought Flim Flam from him, and got it signed.

Not a spammer.

Also not his lackey. I don't know what makes this guy tick. He's very Zsa Zsa to me.

I've never been a very good debater, so this might be good practice and fun for something different. Judging by the few threads I browsed, no one there seems to take any of those threads very seriously.

Besides, I am a Patriots fan, so that should be at least two strikes against me!

(Note - I have been a Pats fan since the 1980's, so please, no accusations of jumpnig on any bandwagons. I well remember the 1-15 season and the peculiar joy that is cheering for Steve Grogan.)

There are Pats fans on the site. There is even an award for best non-Bills fan, named after a deceased Pats fan. They do have some class, if it is also shown by a non-Bills poster.

Pats fan uppy is a torrid pro-Bush supporter. Shiva will algn you with everything uppy stands for the minute you annouce your Patriots support.

That's interesting. I've never heard or seen anything to suggest they are restrictive - very open site.

That may just be an error - there was an attempt to convert the whole site that had to be undone. This was a few weeks back. At one point, it said I was banned. So, just try to log on.

I do not see the point of visiting an obscure website to debate a lone jackass who handwaves off arguments. I poked around on his Taliban thread in which he claims the Taliban (http://www.alemarah.info/english/) does not exist. And constantly asks posters who post evidence "well did you talk to them? or hear it through the media?" As if the citizens and media of the entire world are "in on it". He is as wrong as wrong could be and there will be no reasoning with him. (http://forums.randi.org/showpost.php?p=3856013&postcount=3)He is insignificant regardless of his 18 posts per day for the past 8 years which indicates to me that he craves attention. My advice? Don't give it to him. You can simply put him on ignore or just not respond to him. The fact that you are here posting "on behalf" of him tells me you fell for his tactics hook line and sinker. read this thread (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=118389) and learn something

To explain, I have a friend from PA who is a HUUUUGE Iggles' fan and he bought the jersey immediately after they signed T.O. I am also friends with his wife, so when he tried to chuck it, I bribed asked her to give it to me.
