View Full Version : Truthers could learn from "Balloon Boy"

By now anyone who watches the news at least once per week is aware of the Balloon Boy fiasco.

CNN, NBC, FOX, CBS, ABC....all of the major news networks were covering this event as it unfolded. The family appeared on Larry King Live, Good Morning America, the Today show, etc. It's talked about on radio & tv shows and still front page news on most news websites.

In just a few short days this man with a helium balloon and a budget of next-to-nothing has reached an audience exponentially larger than the truth movement has ever reached.

Then we have truthers, who claim to believe that our own government is responsible for 9/11, yet they don't even have as much initiative as a guy who wanted to get his own reality show.

Balloon Boy's dad was willing to risk a great deal just to get his name out there for a reality show...truthers - isn't your message far more important? Why aren't you as committed to your cause as he was to his?

You forgot the "/":

Results 1 - 100 of about 25,300,000 for 9/11 truth. (0.59 seconds)

But you both also forgot the quotation marks.

Results 1 - 10 of about 605,000 for "truth movement". (0.41 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 672,000 for "9/11 truth". (0.32 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 11,900,000 for "balloon boy". (0.15 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 64,200,000 for "susan boyle". (0.14 seconds)

Results 1 - 10 of about 74,200,000 for "barack obama". (0.28 seconds)

Respectfully,
Myriad

ETA: Without the quote marks you're just getting hits on random disconnected words.

Either that, or I've missed a huge surge in the popularity of paper cars:

Results 1 - 10 of about 1,140,000,000 for paper car. (0.50 seconds)

I got 15,600,000 hits for "9/11 conspiracy theory" (0.77 seconds) with quotes, so I am not sure how valid this is.

I get the same, but only 4,430,000 for "conspiracy theory" -- so apparently there are more 9/11 conspiracy theories than all conspiracy theories (including the 9/11 ones) combined.

Seems fitting, somehow.

Truthers could learn from Balloon Boy?

Evidence?

They seem rather incapable of learning anything. :D

Consdiering the Batcrap Crazy stuff Balloon Boy's father has been spouting, for him to be a Truther would surprise me not in the slightest. It fits the Loon Pattern perfectly.

That's pretty bizarre, actually. For the hell of it I tried the exact same searches in Bing and got:

"9/11 conspiracy theory" : 23,100,000 results
"conspiracy theory" : 25,100,000 results

In the truthers' defense, this guy is a world class attention whore of a tool bag.

The program is flawed. It says 9/11 truth always wins, but yet the other searches I put in yeilded more results.

One of the local morning shows said there is a youtube video of him saying Hillary Clinton could be a reptile shape shifter

So yah, he fits the profile.

Surely if he's a truther/911 denier, he'd be shouting it loud and proud. ;)

If balloon boy had actually been in the balloon and had fallen to Earth out of the balloon, the troofers would have been mystified. After all, wouldn't he have fallen through the path of most resistance? We know that the air above him would have been less dense than the air below him, so therefore he should have fallen upwards. Sixth grade physics indicates this!

The great Ron Bennington (Ron and Fez, 11-3) dealt with that yesterday.

"You know who I think are reptilians? Reptiles. There's something oddly inhuman about them." :D

It's not about the google numbers, although they are interesting.

The truthers think they have evidence that will convict mass murderers, yet they won't even work as hard to get media attention to that subject as this guy did just to try to get himself a reality show.

What the truth movement has failed to accomplish in 8 years this guy accomplished in a few days.

I know that there is some overlap between Ron Paul fans and truthers, so it surprises me that they haven't figured out that balloons are the wave of the future, in terms of political messaging.

On coast to coast am, the very night the hoax was revealed, Richard Hoagland was talking about how this wasn't a hoax and how Falcon was representative of Horus and it was all related to hyper dimensional physics. Old Hoagie even new about the Blitzer show where the little boy blew it for psy(co)ence dad.
RCH isn't a truther, as far as I know, but his crap spewing is nearly identicle. Throw out fifty ludicrous talking points, don't allow a proper rebuttal, ignore any contradictions, spew out more nonsence, rense and repeat....

Just get our leader at JREF, Phil Plaitt, started on Hoagland.......

As for Coast to Coast, one of all time favorite radio moments happened on that show. When someone phoned in claiming to be Named Gordon Freeman, and he worked at a top secret Government Facility called Black Mesa, and he was getting very concerned about some of the wierd things he was seeing. ....
And the host of Coast to Coast fell for it, hook, line and sinker. A thing of beauty.
