Images have revealed a hole on the Moon's surface that is at least 260 feet deep and may lead to an underground tunnel more than 1,200 feet wide which is part of an entire network of such winding tubes.

Of course there are tubes on the moon, where else are the clangers going to live.

They must lead to where this "severed robot head" came from.

Tunnels could indicate alien passage.

Newly Discovered Hole On Moon Leads To Network Of Tubes
So, the Moon already has the Internet. They are further along than we thought.

And they're pretty damned pissed we've been bombing them.

The Clangers do not live, and never have lived, on the moon! Get your facts straight!

Uh oh.
Is this serious? The image on the page looks like someone crudely draw a black shape on a picture in Paint or something.

OK, I understand the hole that they show, but how do they know it's connected to a series of tubes, let alone giving an estimate of the total size?

The Tubes are on the moon?

Any more links? Perhaps one explaining how they determine the depth of the hole? Or how they determined there are tubes 260 feet below it?

Lunarpedia has a little on the details of lunar lava tubes.

In the case of the martian caves it seems as though they used thermal imaging to calculate a depth and in one case were fortunate to image sunlight illuminating the floor which allowed them to calculate a depth.

Instead of "tubes", let's call them cavities created during the formation of the moon. That way, I can claim that farting bacteria was the cause of those cavities and validate my argument that the moon really is just a big hunk of swiss cheese. :D
