I just started reading, "The Dragons of Eden:" by Carl Sagan. It is pretty interesting and ahead of its time, about the evolution of human intelligence.

But I was wondering are there any more recent books on the subject, because it was written 30 years ago and there have probably been much developed on the subject.

one book I saw was "Big Brain: The Origins and Future of Human Intelligence "
