Not the first time, and it won't be the last. I just wonder about the dearth of media attention.

I also hope that a large number of the comments on the article are not posted by my fellow Canadians, but are the result of a propaganda policy.

Is it the death penalty you oppose?
Is it the fact that these people were convicted of murder?
Is it the fact that the Chinese government exacts the death penalty?
Do you believe those executed to have been innocent?

Well, there was the invasive relocation policy, to begin with.
Then, there was the subversion of the local culture, and population.
Of course, there was the military reprisal totally out of proportion to the alleged infractions. This all is a prelude to what you actually asked.

The arrests, incarceration, lack of what we in the west like to call "due process" and "transparency of process".
Then, there's the whole killing thing. I'm not one for killing people. Talk is good, hitting is bad and so on, you see.

Yet, our governments do not say anything, and we continue to cultivate business with China.

It all rankles me, and not just pertaining to the Uighurs.

(edited to add)

And it's not just pertinent to China either.

Sometimes, stuff rankles me.

There needs to be a "rock" icon, so it can be attached to threads like this that sink like one.

I agree. Murder is really nasty stuff.

Well people should know better than to stack it on shelves high enough that it can fall on their head. I knew a man who was killed when his great-grandmother's colonial-period ceramic teapot fell on him during an earthquake! And the worst part of it was, he was a coffee-drinker! Oh the irony! It makes you want to CRY!!!
