I'm hoping someone here can help, I'm not a scientist, I own a small business, I'm a long time skeptic and come from a long line of atheists. My secretary, however, is a somewhat born again christian. I have no problem with this, to each their own, she knows where my ideals lie, she's long since dropped prefacing any statement on morals with "As a Christian..." I would usually counter, "As an atheist..." She's for most part a lovely, intelligent woman who holds a Masters in Fine Arts, with honors, has a good heart but has had a pretty hard life till recently.
Tonight, just before closing I overheard her talking to another employee on a book she's reading written by someone who quotes "well respected scientists" rejecting Darwin's theory of evolution (even throwing in the ubiquitous quantum theory for good measure) I piped in suggesting that quantum theory has little if anything to do with Darwin and perhaps she may want to check the authenticity of the so called expert sources for this book. She's promised to double check.. My question is, does this sound familiar to anyone? I believe it's recent and would appreciate any links to rebuttals etc. It's obviously a creationists diatribe but to be forewarned is to be forearmed.
Many thanks
Paul
