A Tuesday letter writer penned several politically correct, knee-jerk, reactionary, humanistic comments on an article written by Dr. John Rosemond, a syndicated columnist published in your Nov. 27 edition...

...The writer's choice of selective words (i.e., abuse, severe and prolonged, harsh punishment, emotional distress) suggest that he is against the biblical admonition for parents to train up a child in the way he/she should go...

...Dr. Rosemond is simply following the directives of the greatest of all psychologists, who carefully outlines life's guidelines in the Bible. To suggest we are naturally motivated by pride is, at best, naive. It's the fear of the consequence that allows civilization to be civil ... not pride.

Oh, so THAT is why the Christians invented hell! What a sad theology Christianity is.

Apparently not being able to spend eternity with God wasn't enough.

Hell if I know?

Actually I think hell is necessary in order to serparate the good from the bad, so they don't constantly antagonize each other. And, where the good believe in the golden rule, the bad take it out on each other. In which case eveybody is happy. :)

So hell is like heaven for "the bad guys"? Trippy. Doesn't compute, but trippy. Also, what happens if some of the hellbound didn't like being bad? What if It's simply a god denying heathen, who did nothing wrong except refusing to believe in a boogeyman?

What if It's simply a god denying heathen, who did nothing wrong except refusing to believe in a boogeyman? Now that's the part that don't make sense. ;)
