My first guess? He is starting a new news network with Alex Jones.

The Dobbs, Jones and Beck News Hour... a trifecta of crazy

(I'd throw Icke in the mix...but that would ruin my trifecta thing...and also, he's not Amurkin...)

Please, God, let him go to Fox. He, BillO, and Glenn Beck can start a new show, "Crazy Ranting White Guys."

I'd bet dollars to donuts that the deal is already in the bag. I just wonder if he'll do a Full Beck and dial the crazy up to infinity.

Maybe he will team up with Jesse "the Body" Ventura on the new conspiracy theory show.

The story on cnn.com is remarkably lacking in acknowleging the evolution of recent years of his subject matter and style in his show.

Shorter: there's not mention of the crazy.

I think we all know in our hearts that he will be on Fox news channel within the year, which is good. Fox will be a better fit for his style of...commentary.

Personally I think Nancy Grace should also consider a move to the Fox station. Hey Stossel is moving over to the highly successful Fox Business Channel, and we all know his reporting has done nothing but increased in quality over the years.

I heard he's planning to spend more time with his xenophobia.

Lou "Get Off My Lawn" Dobbs.

I'm surprised this didn't happen earlier really.

Greta Van Sustren is on her way to collecting the dole...She never really came across as buying all the Faux News crap anyway.

I wonder what happened here. It sounds like whatever happened it happened quickly and this wasn't planned for like Stossel. He was in the middle of his contract. I'm interested in hearing more details about this. Also he could fit in with Fox but I think their lineup is already jam packed. Greta still pulls decent numbers (plus she gets lots of interviews no one else on Fox gets) I think so I don't believe they would let her go. The only place he would seem to fit into their schedule is at 7 replacing Shepard Smith.

I am not convinced he will go to Fox; he has said too many nasty things about coporate America and Murdoch in particular.
Oh, he's crazy, I just don't think he is Fox's kind of Crazy.
I can actually see a scenario in which MSNBC picks him up to try to get some populist appeal to the network and to be sort of a token CT kook.

He's always struck me as the sort who hasn't had a good, purging bowel movement in years.

This NYT article (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/12/business/media/12dobbs.html) suggests that there's been a bit of internal discord for a while.

Months ago the president of CNN/U.S., Jonathan Klein, offered a choice to Lou Dobbs (http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/d/lou_dobbs/index.html?inline=nyt-per), the channel’s most outspoken anchor. Mr. Dobbs could vent his opinions on radio and anchor an objective newscast on television, or he could leave CNN.

He resigned so he could get the Staff of Ra and find Obama's birth certificate.

According to The Onion he's been deported (http://www.theonion.com/content/news/breaking_u_s_deports_lou_dobbs?utm_source=onion_rs s_daily). And we all know how much we can trust them.

Dobbs met with Fox not too long ago. Its a done deal that he is heading to Fox. Fox's business channel is practically falling off chart ratings wise so I expect Dobbs will end up there as a star to attract viewers.

I wonder how long ago they met?

All the articles I've seen since last night say something like this (http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/la-et-lou-dobbs12-2009nov12,0,1203905.story),

It is unclear whether Dobbs will pursue roles at other cable networks where he could showcase his opinions. On Wednesday, a spokeswoman for the Fox News and Fox Business networks said executives there were not in discussions with the anchor.
or this (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/11/11/AR2009111125152.html?hpid=moreheadlines),

A Fox News spokesman said Wednesday that the network has had no discussions with DobbsSince we can be secure in the knowledge that Fox News would not make any statements that were untrue the meeting of which you speak must have been very recent.

Ailes had dinner with Dobbs...
No date on the dinner.

says Dobbs had dinner with Ailes last month. This story was posted in October so the dinner must have been in September.

Yeah, it seems like Dobbs was on the fence for a while, but Fox finally got him to climb over it.

John "magic wall" King will be replacing him.

http://www.ajc.com/business/cnn-s-john-king-194905.html

"Now, CNN anchor John King is moving to the 7 p.m. slot, replacing the departing Lou Dobbs, the network confirmed Thursday morning.

King’s new political show will start early in 2010, Jon Klein, president of CNN/U.S., said in a news release. The show will have "the widest range of opinions from across the political spectrum," Klein said."

So in other words, same old ****. More pundits. Just what everyone wants to watch. Babbling morons shouting at each other.

Bill Press took this up thismorning. Ailes seems, from all public statements, not especially eager to take Dobbs on board. Press thinks that Dobbs may be thinking of running for office of some sort, maybe even as President on the Republican ticket. His ego would not be able to accept anything lower.

I do not think this is at all far-fetched. (Not like there are a lot of people they could run who would not be laughed off the stage. They seem to like the odd people.)

Ugh... I was daydreaming about a Cafferty hour... now THAT would be fun!

John King is about as interesting as watching paint dry...

I had heard him mentioned for NJ Gov once, but that ship just sailed for another 4 years. I'd love to see him run for something. He's got the kind of issue-focus and explosive ego that made Guiliani such a fun train wreck. But I seriously doubt he'd do it.
