From the book of 180 Amazing Cat Facts. We picked it up at from the grocery checkout line to have some fun at work. A co-worker stumbled across this gem today:
Some believe that cats have the ability to see human auras - the energy field many psychics believe surround the body. And cats may also see the spectre of death. A woman reported that when her husband was ill, "Our cat never left his side. But one day, she leapt from the bed with her hair standing on end. She lashed out in the air with her naked claws as if fighting off an intruder. In horror, I turned to my husband. I was just in time to take him in my arms as he died."
Is it wrong that I laughed myself silly at this?

Obviously, they don't know much about cats. Cats will imagine things they catch. Or perhaps the cat saw a small fly, a dust particle in the sun...
Of course, this is just one of those anecdotes that we cannot track down.

Evidently Death was in my room early this morning, because my cat went absolutely ape sh*t for no apparent reason at about 3 a.m.

Maybe it was a matter of Death coming for the for the cat, the cat fighting and scratching its way out of Death's arms, and the Death settling for the old man?
How do we know that it wasn't an angel that came to heal the man and then went away after being mauled by the cat?
So do cats play with mice before they kill them because they enjoying watching their auras change from calmness to mortal fear?

I call "caption contest!"
(1) Obviously the product of an amature bartender: there's way too much head on that kitten.
(2) No, no, no. I said "hair of the pup."
(3) "Easily in, but not easily out," said the kitten in the kitten pot.
(4) "Hey, look at me, I'm a black and tan."
(5) The guys were upset, but Steve was right. There was nothing in the "Quarters" rulebook that prohibited it.
(6) I spent years trying to juggle cats before the perfect solution came to me.
(7) "That Schrodinger guy is one mean drunk."
(8) "Okay. okay. You can keep calling me 'Half Pint,' now let me out of the damned glass."

Did you know that if you slide a cat around on a wool blanket in the dark, they make sparks?

If you mix a cat with quinine mix, you get a catatonic.

FOOLS, ALL OF YOU!!! They're not rods, they're invisible trolls that live in the carpet. Just ask my cat, who is actually a space alien. It's true, I took the quiz in Weekly World News and my cat scored really high.
Or maybe I'm just really high.

Speaking of being high, I had friend once who smoked way too much reefer and insisted that his cat got high from secondhand smoke. He insisted it was true and it was known as "THC Animal Syndrome."
Wow.
