Define "worst".

I think the best answer is that you go have a lie down and think about what you have said and why you look such an uptight dork.

Or Planet X.

I don't follow, but I do apologize for omitting the Planet X option. However, nobody ever explained to me what the Planet X option means.

Is anyone else sick of this planet X sh*t?
Is it supposed to be funny?

Dear Kelvin,

In many polls, the design of the poll determines the outcome. Planet X as a response says that the poll choices can't express the opinion of the person responding "Planet X".

There's more to "Planet X", indeed, but you'd have to ask somebody who reads that codswallop.

Codswallop, I love that word. Used only by jerks such... as...

Nevermind. And now, my own personal comment on the Planet X phenomenon: Kelvin, it is funny, every time I see it. The first time, I laughed insanely. Such genius humor does not diminish with the passage of time. Whenever I need a good larf, my friends beat me with a large two-by-four emblazoned with "Planet X".

Most? It's all equally unacceptable. There is no "worst."

I get it...I think...

Wouldn't "Other, please explain" make more sense.

Well, now we get to the humor part. You recall that "Planet X" was going to rip apart the earth or something like that according to some bizzare astronomical codswallop that somebody or other was putting forth?

Well, the point is that the answer is forthcoming about the same time Planet X shows up, or something like that.

It's humor, it doesn't have a specific explaination.

Planet X is to polls what "Shemped" is to threads. :D

Quite aside from the codswallop, you have a point, indeed, all of the answers attempt to draw something in, indeed.

OK. That's for taking the time to explain all that, jj.

But, I still hate it.:)

I voted #4 because it is the only one that is demonstrably true and reasonably well documented.

Christ was Jewish.
He was nailed to a cross.
He died for our sins.
His followers (Christians) consider this a blessing.

Duh.

Apart from that, I must say this is the most profoundly stupid and pointlessly inflammatory thread this side of planet Huzington.

Which of these most unacceptably/offensively stereotypes and insults a group? This question with the 4 choices you listed are most unacceptable, offensive, and insulting. On Planet X, you would be Shemped senseless.

How about this choice?

The fundamentalist christian that is vastly patriotic and supports any war where our troops get to kill heathens who does not bathe in soy sauce in preparation for the coming of Cthulhu.

My guess is that this topic is a spinoff from this one. (http://www.randi.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=33326)

The Planet X option is an institutional thing in which "you had to be there." Our man Shemp likes to write a lot of polls. At the time he began doing so, there was a doomsday cult which believed a large brown dwarf sun the size of Uranus was on a course for Earth and would wipe out 90 percent of life as we know it, and only people hiding in dugouts in North Dakota would be left alive. This was supposed to happen in May 2003. As we are all still here, except for Bob Hope and a few others, there was a large garage sale of powdered milk and rice in June 2003.

Shemp always included a "Planet X" option in his polls during this period which somehow related to the topic of the poll while still retaining a hilarious element designed to poke fun at the doomsday cultists everywhere.

And, yes, it was freaking hilarious. This has become a part of the JREF forum lexicon, along with "Borbed," "thank Ed," Tundra Mammoths™, TLOP, and many others. Perhaps a etymology guide to the forum is in order.

It was. Now it's just sort of "cute".

(Edited to Add: ) I must admit that it regained its original hilarity briefly when pillory used it for the first time. Then it returned to "cute" status.

"Duh", unless used ironically, is typically not a good sign.

In this case, you will observe that the question was not:
"Which of these is demonstrably true and reasonably well documented?"

The question was:
"Which of these most unacceptably/offensively stereotypes and insults a group?"

The three days are up. I'm entitled to your child, so you can say "Rumpelstiltskin" all you like, but it won't do you any good. Next time, tell your father to keep quiet about his daughter's supposed paranormal capacity to spin straw into gold.

And my answer was the only thing you omitted from your response:

Apart from that, I must say this is the most profoundly stupid and pointlessly inflammatory thread this side of planet Huzington.

Which would have been covered under the obligatory Planet X option, but since you provided no such option, I tried to have fun with it in the only way I could think of.

Duh.
