it could happen to any of you happy TAM2 attendees.

So, I am taking predictions.

Which JREFers are most likely to end up doing the quickie Vegas wedding thing?

Will it be true love?

How long will it last?

Okay... So, I must be behind the times or not paying attention, but did Britney Spears get married? And if so, to whom? :D

I thought she was marrying UnrepentantSinner!

Here's the link to a deeply intellectual discussion (http://www.randi.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33319) of Britney's recent wedding.

In short, Vegas quickie wedding on Saturday, annulment today.

Could I this backwards? You know divorce Pool Boy and then marry him before we leave?

Actually...a few hours in Vegas and I think a lot of people forget they're married!

I did try to talk him into an Elvis remarriage, but he's not going for it...

Oh I don't think so. Moe already turned me down once, and she doesn't drink so no one can get her that way either. :p

now the quickkie thing without the marriage... one can only hope. :D

Since I will not be bringing my birth certificate along, a Vegas wedding is not something I have to worry about :)

Oh, no need to worry :)

Marriage License Requirements: Requirements for U.S. citizens and non U.S. citizens are the same.

It is suggested that non U.S. citizens check with your local officials for special documents that may be needed to ensure that your marriage will be recognized in your country.

Applicants must be a Male and a Female, at least 18 years of age, and not nearer of kin than second cousins or cousins of half blood, and not having a husband or wife living.

Applicants may be required to prove their age. Those not having acceptable identification to prove age may be refused a marriage license. (Faxed copies, damaged identification, privately issued I.D., check cashing cards or photocopies of identification are unacceptable.)

Social Security Numbers are required on the Affidavit of Application for a Marriage License. Please know your Social Security Number. Those without knowledge of their Social Security Number may be refused a marriage license. It is recognized that non U.S. citizens will not have a Social Security Number.

Identification: The following may be used for identification:

Driver's License or State-issued I.D. card.
Original or Certified copy of Birth Certificate.
Foreign Birth Certificate must be translated into English and notarized.
Passport.
Military Identification.
Resident alien card.

"To be valid in Belgium, and recognized as such, the marriage celebrated in the United States of America needs to be validated in Belgium by the Civil Registrar ("Ambtenaar van de Burgerlijke Stand/Officier de l' Etat Civil"). To do this, the Civil Registrar will have to be submitted a certified copy of the marriage certificate, duly authenticated by means of the "apostille", and translated into the French or Dutch languages. Please note that the Belgian authorities will keep the certified copy of your marriage certificate for their records and you should therefore obtain a separate certified copy of your marriage certificate from the State Vital Statistics Office where the marriage was registered or filed. This certified copy can then be submitted to the office of the Secretary of State in the state where the marriage was celebrated to be further authenticated by means of the "apostille" before being submitted to the Belgian authorities with the translation."

There you are, just need another copy ;)
