As claimed by the Daily Mail:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-1238835/Mistletoe-cures-womans-cancer-shuns-chemotherapy.html

Another report:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2009/12/28/mistletoe-fine-115875-21926886/

The clinic involved Park Attwood states on their website:

The clinic was founded in 1978, is a not-for-profit organisation and treats people with a wide range of illnesses and life challenges including treatment for cancer
And on their mistletoe page:

Mistletoe preparations are usually used in addition to conventional cancer therapies.

Well at least the clinic doen't appear to claim that it cures cancer, from what I can see unlike some.

Christmas time... mistletoe... as good a time as any to recycle this OLD story. Needless to say, iscador isn't proven. But, like the anti-vax Jenny McCarthy's of the world, it is good at getting celebrities embroiled in controversy. Ask Suzanne Sommers.

One should easily find thousands of people who survived cancer due to Iscador ... hmm ...wait ..

This, however, provides those under treatment with a great pick-up line.

Hm. Good chance to study the effects of kissing on people getting cancer treatments...

I'm not sure about cancer, but in some places it causes kissing. And I'm all for that.

It's the only American Christmas tradition that I wish had been adopted here. :(

Christmas is over. Still, I'm all for kissing... women, that is. (Sorry, Arthwollipot.) I think that's all mistletoe is good for.

I clicked on this thread to see if my view is correct that any headline of the form X causes/cures cancer must be from the Daily Mail. I am glad to see it confirmed.

 It's not a tradition there? That's not right! Time for some cultural imperialism! There are a few (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_Byrne) famous (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naomi_Watts) Austrailians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kylie_Minogue) I'd love to kiss. :D

I don't know if it cures cancer, but I am positive there must be a correlation between mistletoe and the spread of cold sores (oral herpes). :D

But far be it for me to complain - I've had a couple of quite memorable New Year's kisses. :D
