View Full Version : White House Christmas Tree Decorations "WTF" Moment

It is being reported that Obama's Christmas tree has some odd decorations (http://biggovernment.com/2009/12/22/transvestites-mao-and-obama-decorate-white-house-christmas-tree/)this year.

No, Obama himself didn't do it -- it was the work of a "controvertial" (in other words, boringly predictable "communism and obscenity are GOOD") artist. And, no, I don't think Obama is actually a communist because of the stupid tree decoration with Mao on it.

But, if true, why did the white house invite such morons to do the decoration in the first place?

Where's the obscenity?

Here is a safer link to Fox News (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/12/23/white-house-christmas-decor-featuring-mao-zedong-comes/).

You looked at that image and came away with the idea that the artist is praising communism? The Mao image is taken from a Warhol print and (as far as I can tell) the ornament maker has added light-blue eye shadow and blush. If anything the image should piss off the Chinese more than it pisses off Americans.

Rumor has it that Mao had a soft spot in his heart for Santa Claus, and Christmas. Seems that every year since the day he turned Communist, he'd get a lump of coal delivered. In the lean years between 1928 and 1947, and Mao being very frugal, that lump of coal was most handy, in that it helped cook his meager dinner for a few days.

Because even morons can be citizens?

A swat with the clue bat: Skeptic isn't a Republican. Care to guess why I say that?

And, so soon after collecting the Nobel Peace Prize, why wouldn’t the White House have an ornament super-imposing President Obama onto Mt. Rushmore:

That looked nothing like an attempt to super-impose Obama onto Mt. Rushmore. The ornaments are collages. Everything is superimposed!

Sorry--not a credible criticism of anything.

From what I've read in the blogosphere, blank ornaments were sent to children to be decorated.

But the political CT is more fun.

I guess they'd rather see teabags hung all over the tree.

I agree that this isn't important but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be discussed. What do you think the internet is for if not meaningless discussion?

...and porn obviously.

Your priorities are horribly screwed up sir!
Porn is first.
It's: Porn and meaningless discussion.
Never: Meaningless discussion and porn.

Just drop it George.

White House Christmas Tree Decorations "WTF" Moment
Which is the bigger "WTF" moment, the tree decoration or a thread about the tree decoration?

Time to get a life, Skeptic. Nobody cares.

Maybe because the White House is now filled with communists? Afterall, this stupid tree decoration isn't the only reason to suspect that. :D

Sorry Darth, but you got the rumor wrong. That lump of coal was all that was needed to cook dinner for most of China's populace during the lean years. Remember, this was a time when Mao would drive along highways seeing bountiful crops of rice growing beside the road the whole way to his destination. Crops that had been freshly tranplanted to the locations just a day earlier. The reality was that hundreds of millions were starving because of crop failures brought about by ... well ... communism, which so many of Obama's close associates STILL admire. :D

See, BAC is the exception to Poe's Law. Even with the smilie, I can't tell if this is a parody or actual extremism.

Yup--but those treasonous, commie, God-hating anti-Americans come in all ages. :)
