I'd be really interest to know if anyone of this forum is in disagreement with any government for its explanation of any major newsworthy events in the past?

are some governments more honest that others?

governments are made of people. some people lie and some people don't.

it is highly unsophisticated and immature to argue that because someone in the American government lied in 1964, therefore ANYTHING said by ANYONE in government from then on, must be considered a lie.

I work for NYC govt. People in my government have been convicted of lying and fraud in the past. Does that mean that everything I say, a city employee, is a lie?

read my sig.

The Kansas City, Missouri Parks & Recreation Committee is made up of nothing but liars and thieves. It's a prerequisite to get an appointment to it. Says it right in the City Charter.

Anything else I can help you out with?

Will you be making a point as to how this relates to 911 conspiracy? or should i just go ahead and report your post requesting it be moved to politics? You have one hour to make your point

"since govt. has lied in the past, nothing they say can EVER be trusted. therefore, 9-11 was an inside job".

:D

Yes, governments have been untruthful. Also, truthers have frequently engaged in deception. So how do these two facts take us further forward?

Thunder

9-11 Truthers have said many dishonest things about 9-11 and other subjects in the last few years. Therefore, I feel that ALL 9-11 Truthers can NEVER be trusted. EVER.

Yes, in the past there have been govermnment announcements that have been lies.

Flip the question, how many governments lie all the time and have as their unwritten motto, " Don't tell the truth when a lie will suffice"?

Has a government ever been untruthful?Yes. Why is this topic in the 9/11 Conspiracy Theory sub-forum?

My friend's mom lied to him once.

Damn all mothers.

Yes. Why is this topic in the 9/11 Conspiracy Theory sub-forum?

its clearly a leading question.

after we admit that "yes, governments have lied in the past", his response will be:

"then how can you now trust what the lying govt. is saying about 9-11????"

I assumed the OP's question was more rhetorical than anything. You know, the old "you sheeple are so naive; your refusal to accept my wacky conspiracy theory isn't because of any lack of evidence, it's because you just believe whatever the government tells you!"

BAM! Since the only information we got about 911 is from The Governmenttm, I'm beginning to consider becoming a truther ;)

Thunder

damn truthers said a *********** B-52 crashed into the Empire State Building.

damn truthers superimposed fake explosion sounds onto a silent video of one of the WTC towers collapsing.

damn truther, while arguing with members of the FDNY, made believe he was not backed up by fellow truthers, even though Dylan Avery was right behind them.

Truthers lie. I don't trust truthers.

Yes, TimmyG.

In fact, some governments have lied nearly as much as 9/11 truthers do.

There's the time the government promised they'd pass a law requiring Jessica Alba and Jennifer Love Hewitt to pose nude at least twice a year.

What? That never happened? Well damnit it SHOULD have. Stupid government. http://www.lethalwrestling.com/upload/colbert.gif

Unfortunately, in the spirit of giving equal time to other peoples tastes they'd probably have to dig up Bea Arther and display her too. Think about that, A nekkid zombie Maude shambling about moaning for braiiinnnsss. No sir, we cannot take that risk no matter how slight...

Has a truther ever committed a reification fallacy?

Wow...that question is more loaded than Charlie Sheen on a Saturday night. :)

Of course, no one believes everything that every Government has said...that's just silly. Like the old joke...How do you tell when a politician is lying?....his mouth is moving. It's where critical thinking comes in.

Rhetorical question fail.

Say, that prompts the question: Have you ever been untruthful?

Travis

I think a nice follow up question is: was there ever a government that lied about everything?

Because unless the answer to that question is "yes" this whole thread was about nothing.

Thunder
5th January 2010, 10:54 AM
has there ever been a truther that contributed to a thread after creating it?

Governments don't lie, people lie.

I say we get rid of the people and put dogs in charge of the governments.
Dogs are loyal and trustworthy, they never lie, they don't have conspiracies,
I wouldn't trust a cat though.
