Hey, y'all,

Over the past year since TAM I, there have been occasional threads discussing the musical talents of forum members and plans to get people together, either in real-time or virtually, to jam. I recall discussions of Hal's fabulous new guitar, plans to make recordings with various instrumentalists, discussions of cover songs, etc...

So I wanna know: should I pack anything musical for this TAM? I play guitar and flute, and I'm learning the mandolin, so while I'd prolly not want to bring all of those things, I could bring up to two. Or are we just gonna be too busy eating chocolate, going on tours, sleeping through, er, attending lectures, making coffee, gambling, eating, seeing Penn and Teller, people watching, practicing magic tricks, and bouncing around the hotel in our pyjamas to bother?

Share your thoughts...

Speaking as someone with no musical talent whatsoever- Sure, bring something! Bring it to the pajama party :)

Although I would love to bring my guitar, I think it's going to be too much to haul all that plus my laptop. Also, I don't want anything to happen to my guitar while travelling.

However, if some musicians do get together, I can be the go-go dancer. :D

Hmm....

It seems we have no instrumental commitments yet (although I do note your go-go dancing contribution, there, G6!), and we're leaving quite early tomorrow morning. The flute isn't going to be much fun unless someone else is there for me to play along with him/her; although it is easier to transport than, say, the 12-string (my 6-string has a lousy case). *ponders* I guess we'll see what posts the night brings....

I will have my favorite keyboard in tow, and will happily bust it out if circumstances call for it. Plus, if there's a piano in the lobby, I am likely to jump on it at some point until I'm kicked off by a hotel employee (which always seems to happen rather quickly, despite the fact that I play very well and have frequently been hired to play in hotel lobbies). If anyone has something with which to join me, that would be most welcome.

Agh, wrong login...

This is Finella. Actually, we're on our way out the door and the suitcase is full. I don't think I'll bring the guitar or the flute, but the pennywhistle'll pack nicely. :)

See you there!

My Martin's staying home.
No loss, since I hardly ever practice anymore.
