Nice. Why should the Palestinians come back to peace talks if Israel has already made up its mind?
I suggest the Palestinians should respond by stating that they will NEVER give up their rights to Jerusalem.
Fair is fair.

Neither Israel or Palestine have been able to agree on anything since 1967, this is just another year that there will be no peace between the two. And that is a very sad thing. :(

not exactly. both sides are very close as to final borders. and even in regards to refugees.
Jerusalem..is another story. though I think Bibi is just blowing hot air.
everyone who is not insane knows that in the end, Israel will have to share Jerusalem.

I just wish they could come to a final agreement that is fair to both of them. :)

Here's what I don't get. If you're going to post a dishonest and misleading OP, shouldn't you link to some conspiracy or spin site rather than a source that contradicts you in the first line of the article?
Israeli PM: "We will NEVER share Jerusalem with the Palestinians".
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Tuesday that Israel would never cede control of united Jerusalem
Keep it up, Parky.

how is the title..or my OP..dishonest?
Bibi says he will never share Jerusalem with the Palestinians.
that means Israel keeps some..and the Palestinians get the rest.

"share" means something different than "cede control"
Keep it up, Parky.

i believe that Bibi meant "share" and "share control" and "cede control" to be the same thing.
Bibi does not want one square inch of Jerusalem going to the Palestinians. this is clear as day.
and yes, I will definitely keep on speaking the truth. thank you for the encouragement.

Well yes, in your mind I'm sure he's an evil scheming baby killer as well.
Fortunately for the rest of us, our reality is not dependent on what you believe (or pretend to believe in order to make a point, as this thread would suggest).

Here's the plan:
We invade Saudi Arabia and seize Mecca. After a few hundred years, when the Arabs take it back, we raise holy hell from here to eternity about what evil hateful racists bastards they are. Then, when they announce that they'll never cede control of Mecca to us, we double-down on the raising hell thing.

All he did was copy the headline of the article. The reporter obviously thought the two statements are equivalent. I don't know what else it could mean.

Really? You can't imagine a situation where two people share an area while one retains control of it?

oh, in other words, Israel shares Jerusalem with the Palestinians, but Israel does the controlling.
let me guess: the Palestinians can fly their flags, but Israel controls security, the roads, the water, the infrastructure, and the building permits?
Nice. Pure right-wing Zionist logic. And Israelis wonder why soo many folks don't like them.

Another J'lem thread? At this point the theory of Parky's obsession with J'lem has turned into a principle.
Quixotecoyote was right as well:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Tuesday that Israel would never cede control of united Jerusalem nor retreat to the 1967 borders, according to a bureau statement.
Is not equivalent to the title of the thread. Then again, the brunt of those on this forum will skim over this once they see who the author is ;)

Headlines are usually written by editors, not reporters. Nitpicking aside, parky clearly thought this editor's interpretation was noteworthy and should be brought to our attention. Since the editor isn't here to justify his opinion, but parky is; and since it was parky's idea to bring the headline up for discussion, I'm perfectly happy to hold parky accountable for the opinions he chose to present in the OP.
Hrm.
Actually, since I have parky on ignore, I guess I'm just as happy not to hold him accountable for any opinions at all. Never mind.

Not in terms of sovereign power.

But not nearly as ironic for the purposes of this thread.

Nice. Why should the Palestinians come back to peace talks if Israel has already made up its mind?
Because the Palestinians ostensibly want their own State. No way they'll get it handed to them without some form of peace talks taking place.

Strange. Parky seems to think that the fact that PLO declared in August 2009 that its goal always was, is, and will be the eradication of Israel is no reason for Israel to stop negotiating, but a statement by Israel's PM about Jerusalem is perfectly reasonable reason for the Palestinians to stop.
