i saw this on Mystery Diagnosis. First it is important to pass this around because of the odd but fatal aspect of the Syndrome. Second it is interesting to me that one of the reasons it is beginning to start showing up more frequently is the fact that antibiotics are being pulled back in prescriptions because of a fear of over prescription.

Again for the kids on the short bus, I think this raises an issue that contradicts my earlier opinion that antibiotics are problematic. I'm not pointing fingers at the medical community.

I thought this would be an interesting discussion

I think I'd need to see some documentation that supports a claim of increased incidence, and also if the cases were caused by underprescribing.

My impression is that the cases would start with a throat infection, and these patients would probably have been prescribed antibiotics.

The other thing is the magnitude: only a couple hundred cases in a century. I'm not sure that outweighs concerns about antibiotics.
