How long have I been downplaying Iraq's vaporous links to Bin Laden's network and instead been promoting Saddam's removal to cut off supplies and money for Palestinian terror?
Now in Bush's speech to AES, I hear my own ideas coming back to me. Which of Bush's speechwriters reads this board?

Did you ever consider that this is all a backlash from Israeli terror and belligerent American Christian Fundamentalism?
Take John Ashcroft for example. He is a rabid foaming at the mouth Christian Fundamentalist.

Rabid Foaming at the mouth Fundamentalist? At the AES speech I referenced he looked like a Half-done Dean Martin clone. However, he wasn't foaming at the mouth, laying hands on anyone to pray, or frisking anyone to check for non-King James Bibles.

Can he just get a story and stick to it. He gives every impression of just fishing around for whatever sells.

You are right. It happens often. There is some serious data-mining done here by government agencies.
They know where to look for urgent genius-level ideas about current events.

When have you ever heard John Ashcroft mention Christianity at any of his justice department briefings?
Even if he is a Christian, so what? I don't care what people believe, as long as that belief doesn't send people into ovens or starve them to death intentionally.

I know how you feel. I've had my ideas stolen. When the 'Have a nice day' craze hit, I started telling people to 'Have a nice life'. Then the movie "When Harry met Sally" came out, and Billy Crystal stole my line!

IMO It safe to care what people believe in, particularly when it concerns Christian and Islamic fundamentalism
John Ashcroft is a fundamentalist which is why he is so vehemently apposed to abortion accept in the case the mother's live is endangered.
John Ashcroft grew up in the small city of Springfield, Missouri, the son and grandson of ministers from the Assembly of God. His personal and political philosophies have been largely influenced by his religious upbringing. In the Senate, Ashcroft quickly established himself as a vocal conservative. As Attorney General, his strong response to the threat of terrorism has won him the admiration of some. But he has also drawn the ire of civil libertarians, who fear he is stomping on individual freedoms in the name of national security.
Assembly of God, that just about says it all
