View Full Version : An especially illogical horoscope

Here is my horoscope for today, from Yahoo (Gemini).
You tend to be a logical person, dear Gemini, and so when insights come your way via ESP you might tend to doubt their validity. Don't fall into this trap. If a feeling is particularly strong, go with it - don't write it off because it isn't logical. Life isn't always that predictable! Today you can trust your intuition with regard to just about any department of life - if you let yourself!
Well, let's see...if I'm a logical person, then why would I believe this horoscope in the first place?
Just thought it was strange.

Okay, my intuition tells me that astrology is bunk.

It's obvious!
Assuming you're a logical person, your horoscope is accurate and so it's logical to believe it. :D

You should believe it because you don't have 100% proof that it's impossible, silly rabbit.

Cool, jayrev! Your horoscope says that your powers of extrasensory perception will be trustworthy today. (If you "let yourself" trust them, whatever that means.)
Quick, before the day ends! Take the Randi $1,000,000 challenge!

I wonder if Mr. James Randi of the James Randi Educational Foundation would be willing to tell us the story of when he fought 12 woo-woos at a time and won!

He doesn't post very often. Why don't you tell us?

I don't know the whole story but I'm sure we would all like to hear it and his other tales of taking on the woo-woos in battle!

Well as we all know James Randi is a 15th level Fighter/5th level rogue, His AC is 23 with his +4 Chain mail and his base attack bonus of +18 is complimented by weapon specialization in the battle axe and he carries a +5 Keen Shocking Burst Battle Axe. None of those 12 woo-woos was any higher than 3rd level so his victory was pretty well assured.

With his Great Cleave feat he carved through 8 of those in one attack! Amaz!ng!

Come on Randi please delight us with tales of your heroic adventures all in the name of nothing other than science! I would really like to hear about the battles fought against faith healers! Maybe Randi always wins because the believers try to use wizzard power or some other nonsense which doesn't work because it doesn't exist!

None of the woo-woos in question were wizards I think four of them were sorcerers (A fine distinction I will grant you), two were clerics, and one was a druid. The rest were just first level fighters.

Yeah, between the keen property of his battle axe and his Improved critical feat, he went through them like a hot knife through butter.

Cool! That is one of many possitive side effects of rational thinking!
I can’t wait! I just know that we will all be ecstatic when thrilled with tales of his delightful conquests and victories over those who try to obliterate science! It may take him a while to post it because it would be difficult even for a great material mind like his to put his wonderful epic journeys into words!

Pah. If he were still using 1st Edition rules, he could've carved up fifteen of them in a melee round!
(Of course, back then, melee rounds were 10 times as long....)

I’ve been wondering when the final showdown is going down between Mr. James Randi of the James Randi Educational Foundation and his adversary Geller!
