Hit enter by mistake.

"Sen. Scott Brown's (R-Mass.) election has been shown to be "a joke," the son of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) said Thursday.

Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.) castigated Brown for having pushed to be sworn in ahead of schedule to permanently fill the Senate seat left vacant by the congressman's father's death in August.

"Brown's whole candidacy was shown to be a joke today when he was sworn in early in order to cast his first vote as an objection to Obama's appointment to the NLRB," Kennedy said Thursday."

Has Rep. Kennedy been made aware yet that it's the people's seat?

What are you referencing? Did he refer to it as his father's seat? (I do see where he called it "the Senate seat left vacant by the congressman's father's death". That is an accurate statement).

A new poll in Rhode Island (http://www.irishcentral.com/topics?topic=Rhode+Island) shows deep problems for Patrick Kennedy (http://www.irishcentral.com/topics?topic=Patrick+Kennedy), son of Ted, who is an eight term incumbent.
The poll, by WPRI TV station, showed only 35 per cent of voters in his district would vote to re-elect him, while he has a 56 per cent unfavorable rating.
Kennedy also faces a well-financed Republican challenger for the first time in the shape of State Rep. John Loughlin (http://www.irishcentral.com/topics?topic=John+Loughlin), who announced his campaign yesterday
This is the best-financed challenger he’s faced since the first time he ran, and his favorability numbers are way down.

Gonna have to bookmark this post and come back and bump it (if it turns out the right way) in November so we can all enjoy the laughs.

That's OK. He said the same thing about Caroline Kennedy's campaign for the New York Senate seat vacated by "Snipery" Hillary. Wait a minute....No...No....No, he didn't..Never mind.

The link doesn't work. I did find the video by googling "youtube OJEEQHOnI2Q". But I don't see Patrick Kennedy in the video at all, so I'm still missing the relevance of the "Has Rep. Kennedy been made aware yet that it's the people's seat?" question. Is there another video that shows him not being aware of whose seat it is?

Neither are related to Scott Brown, and I really doubt any voters thought they were.

Scott Brown's father was a politician though, of sorts. He was a city councilman in Newburyport MA. I doubt that name recognition helped him though.

Nothing like generations of Kennedys riding on JFK's coattails.

Yes, he did crash into a barrier at the Capitol shortly after he was seen drinking at a bar. Instead of giving him a sobriety test, the police escorted him home. I can only imagine what would happen to most non-Kennedys if we drunkenly crashed into a barrier near the Capitol.

I'd like to set the record straight about something- I made a mistake based on Patrick Kennedy's bloated face. While he might be stupid and a drunkard, I can clearly see from other pictures that he is not a fat man. I stand corrected and I regret the error.

Even when they are idiot enough to vote against their own best interests - that's what I both love and hate about the fundie fools.

Spoken like a politician who is deservedly enjoying a robust 56% disapproval rating in his district.

Hey, I dunno. Fat, drunk, and stupid people have one huge advantage: they usually don't cause much trouble.

You mean, like upper-income people voting for Obama, who will tax them far more than the other guy?

Oh wait, when liberals do it, it's idealism. When conservatives do it, it's stupidity.

Anyway, you got to love the have-you-stopped-beating-your-wife attitude: if someone votes for conservatives, then, if X is upper-middle-class or higher, X is a greedy, opressive evil capitalist who just wants to do what's good for him and the hell with the good of the country.

But what if X is middle middle class or poor? Well, in that case, X is just stupid, voting against his own interests.

"Fundie fools" being the same people who put a Kennedy in the Senate for the past 60 years.

Rule number one in both advertising and politics is if something is beloved by the masses, don't attack it, because then you're attacking them.

Can't say for the "fat and drunk" bit, but stupid seems to fit.
