Should be interesting to see how this plays out in Conservative Bizarro World.

The only thing I find interesting is how you try to make it a lef/right issue. But then I guess that's what people on the left look for. "See how harmless a thing I posted is getting attacked by the right after I tried to instigate crap with them"
Hussein knew how some would be and how they would try to assume power and create a different rule than his if, by some unforseeable miracle, they managed to defeat the coalition forces. He'd rather have his people "fend off the agressors" themselves or with help from lesser extremists in order to prevent a possible "Yay! We defeated the infidel dogs, but now UBL is in charge and he never much cared for me so I'm still ass out"
I don't see how this in anyway changes anything that's been discussed before.

"It's all Clinton's fault and Hillary has fat legs." Something like that.

It sort of makes, "Saddam supports Al Qaeda" look a little daft though, doesn't it?

Not at all. Think about what your ilk has been saying all along. He may have supported them, up to a point. You know, "the enemy of my enemy........" But it is not something he will apply to them in all cases and as such he takes a different view on their use.
Hell some of you like to say "We made him or created him" Well why wouldn't he act the same then?
Hey if you can apply it to the US why not him? Now, what size foot do you have in your mouth?;)

Oh, yeah, I'm totally embarassed. :o :o :o Pity there's a limit on the emoticons you can put in a post. No, maybe it's for the best, wouldn't want to crash the server...
Except...
Wait...
There is concrete evidence the US supported Iraq and F*CK ALL evidence Iraq supported Al Qaeda!
Ah, where would you be without and apples-and-oranges comparison?

Oh I'm sorry. No evidence right now means none at all in your world? I've made no claims about any such evidence either way. I'm merely stating that what he does at one point in time and at another point in time, is not evidence of a lack of evidence. Now go eat a freaking mango as you can't see the difference between apples and oranges to begin with.:p

Yeah, actually, no evidence right now means none at all. I'm funny like that. Now, if a link between Al Qaeda and Saddam comes out of the blue tomorrow, I'll believe it providing the evidence is verifiable. Just like I'll believe in Sasquatches if someone catches one tomorrow.
You can point out how something is not evidence of lack of evidence, but can you provide any evidence that Saddam supported Al Qaeda.
Hint: People a lot smarter than you have tried, and failed.

well that's the difference between us. If it comes out tomorrow I'm not right or wrong. If it never comes out, I'm not right or wrong. See, I'm open to the suggestion, but not buying anything one way or the other until there is proof. You're going to owe an apology when, and or if, proof is found. I don't jump on landmines.

Well, that's nice. Unfortunately, some people, based on no evidence, decided that it would be a good idea to go to war with Iraq, kill thousands, put the cause for world peace back fifty years, and add another hundred bil or so to your national debt. Now, do you think it would make sense to invade Canada because it's possible Sasquatches live there?

yeah but you're confronting me and not them. Now think about it and think about who is being the fool.
I was for this war back when I was already over there for Gulf One. It's got nothing to do with what clinton did or didn't do or what this Bush did. I'm a little more happy that this one decided to finish what the other had me start, but that's the end of it.

So you supported the war before it was 'kewl', before it 'sold out'. Bravo. Why did you support the war?

can you read? or is that like a bizarre concept for you? I've explained why. Or do you need more detail, like the detail I gave in the last thread on this subject?

No, just because they hate and distrust each other slightly less than they hate us, is no reason that they would not cooperate to harm us.
