Is this the interview where denton asked dawkins a bunch of personal questions that noone really cares about?

From my recollection it was a pretty crappy interview.

I thought it was a great interview. It was a shame that Richard refused to answer so many questions, considering that seemed to be the point of the show.

We live in a society that worships youth. On television, in magazines, in advertisements and on billboards — it is what sells and what is sold to us. But in some cultures, it is the elders of the community who are valued and whose wisdom is sought. In this second series of Elders, Andrew Denton again seeks out prominent elders of our tribe, each over the age of 65, to see what life has taught them. Once again we are seeking to put wisdom on TV, to do in public something we are not very good at doing privately: valuing the experience of our elders.

Finally had a day off and a chance to watch this. Thanks so much for posting the link!

I am such a big fan of Mr. Dawkins, and I thought this interview was wonderful. He may have dodged a few personal questions but for fair enough reasons, it seemed to me. I was struck by how polite and how humble he seemed, considering how outspoken he is when it comes to his work. I think both of them handled the questions Dawkins found awkward with grace and humor.

Anyway, a joy to watch. Thanks!

I watched it when it was shown on television and I was disappointed. Dawkins, in retrospect, wasn't the person to interview for this type of show (with questions about the person and not their work).

Ditto!

I liked the last question (about Dawkins' star sign) and how Dawkins reacted to it. :D
