I switched on an old pc today because I was looking for an e-mail address. I used to share this pc with other people and my e-mail accounts in OUTLOOK EXPRESS were "locked" with passwords that.... yes.... I have forgotten now....

Do you have any idea if is it possible to unlock the accounts without losing the e-mails?

Thank you.

Assuming the emails are local in OE, and you're not asking how to hack an email account, I've always found the Passware suite to be good at hacking passwords out of quite a variety of applications. It says it can unlock Outlook Express, but I haven't tried it as I use full Outlook, and without a password.

Cheers,
Rat.

Trial version of the software gives you the first three letters & length of the password. Perhaps that will jog your memory.

If not it might be worth the $30 to purchase the full version.

Thank you very much both of you.

I used Show Me's advice and it worked immediately. This programe provides you with the first 3 digits of the password so you can't really hack other people's accounts.
