Very cool if they manage to make a robust working device.
Problems I can see with it is possibly infections from the incision or maybe even some power issues considering it will be hooked up to your arteries.

I've read the cybernetics keeps getting pushed back because we're actually happier just using external devices without the risk or expense of surgery.
Why wouldn't I just have an iPhone and a wireless headset?

Also the fact that the equipment would become part of us is another issue, and that equipment could be manipulated.

This might scare away a sizable minority, but I still largely agree with the point raised by AvalonXQ. Convenience versus intrusiveness of use. One of the comments on the page brought up the pain of upgrades. Another surgery!
Personally I can see these sorts of technologies catching on as specific subculture fads. Less intrusive implants like an earring phone might see broad based appeal. Subdermal implants would take many decades to reach a comforting acceptance.
On the weird side, I am both for techno plumaged performers and against the likely advertisement usage this will see.

I think both the fact that it the equipment could be manipulated is a serious danger, especially depending on what kind of equipment was fitted to the person. Regardless, the fact that you would need surgery everytime you need an upgrade would only make things worse.

As in the potential for privacy violations? That already exists with near ubiquitous cell phones/web cams and very tiny recording devices that can be hidden on an unsuspecting target. Fear of computer viruses that overload and cause a short circuit or even an electrical fire? That seems to be a greater worry. Yes, there are implications in this technology as with all technology. Implants in and of themselves are not where the manipulation danger comes in when compared to contemporary technology. The big hitch will be with technology that can give more subtle feedback. Something we are already dealing with and that is completely separate from implanted technology.
The new worries will be more an aggregation and continuation of current worries if anything. Basically the problems with wireless communicator arms are those of prosthetics and wireless communicators combined.
I look forward to the sexual implications if subdermal lighting becomes innocuous and relatively painless.

It would be much easier (and less insane) to have a sleeve with the same functionality that was worn outside the skin.

Easier and more practical. It lacks the cool factor of a skin based display.

Using Blood as a Power Supply... :faint:
Why no connect directly to the Brain ?
Sure, this would need a high level of security.

It's a rubbish idea. Why would you want the hassle of rolling up your sleeve all the time just to answer the phone?
Anyway, I guess the CPU must be an ARM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_architecture)

I like the fact that the designer just yada-yadas over the power source. "It runs on glucose and oxygen in the blood." Genius. It could be charged by a wireless battery (something that is very close to actually existing). Instead it's fueled by fairy dust.
Incidentally, if they're ever able to make electronics run on blood, I have a pretty good feeling that pacemakers will be first.

Think of the visual assault the likes of Bjork, Lady Gaga and Johnny Weir could attempt with implanted lighting. Some will enjoy, others will cringe. I will do both as it is interesting even when horrific.

A friend of mine described one reason her personal "mechanical friend" is superior to a man is the flashing LEDs. Finally, man can again compete against his mechanical rivals.

Even better idea. Have a machine that drains most of your energy from your blood and converts it into electricity. Great weight loss method. Will make its inventor very rich.
I would say that the risk of infection would be high.

Exactly...great idea until its obsolete a year later. Or worse yet...broken with no money to fix it and out of warranty. There will be a large portion of the poor population walking around with broken cell phone/computers embedded in thier arms...lol.
