7 right, got 2,3 & 5 wrong.

Don't think that is too bad for a UK 'citizen'.

I got 9...

The first question got me... *sigh*

Anyways, what was the point of this?

I missed the assassination one. The last question is actually incorrect as the President's yearly salary has been doubled to 400,000. (Perhaps that pay raise has not yet taken effect.)

I also missed the assassination one (who the heck remembers President Garfield?), but I noticed the mistake in the presidential salary question too. Clinton signed that pay increase into law in 1999 (a gift to future presidents, although he could not benefit from it), so I'm pretty sure it's taken effect. My recollection is that Bush reported $400,000 in salary on his last tax return.

What the only US president to successfully enter the entertainment business after leaving office and you forgot him (http://www.garfield.com/) ? I'd have thought he would be one the most well remembered former presidents...

9/10 - I missed the first one.

A little bit of stealth editting going on here. The answer to question 3 now says:

President Truman had an 85% approval rating at the beginning of 1945, but that sank to a little over 30% in the wake of the Korean War and domestic problems.

earlier it said

President Truman had an 85% approval rating at the beginning of 1945, but that sank to a little over 30% after he ordered two atomic bombs to be dropped on Japan.

Which is, of course, wrong.

Yup! I'm whatchamacall an Alabama scholar. Done finised the tenth grade. :D

Actually, I knew Israel came into existance in 1947, so I figured our interest in the Mid East came shortly after that.

I tried to use that nugget of knowledge when I was trying to answer it but then didn't know the dates of Wilson & Eisenhower's presidencies.

Also, there is no correct answer to #3. George Bush, whose highest approval rating got up to 89% (His son has gotten slightly higher at 90%) had a low that went down to 29% (http://gi.grolier.com/presidents/ea/bios/41pbush.html).

Truman's low was pretty low, lower than BBC says: 23% (http://www.gallup.com/poll/focus/polls_this_century_quiza.asp)

This quiz looks like some British guy wrote it or something...

Only 7/10 for me.

Ugh!

I should have given more thought to question six and I could have gotten at least 8/10.

4 / 10, which was better than I expected. :D

And I'm sure I read somewhere that the next in line after the President and Vice-president is the Secretary of State...then the Speaker of the Representatives. Oh well.

Yay, Zep, now I'm not the worst! Thanks!

Five out of ten; I got questions 1,3,5,6, and 10 wrong. Says I need a running mate.

I got 10 out of 10, although I really didn't expect to. A few of those were educated guesses, and by "educated" I mean "shot-in-the-dark."
