The Australian Senate has blocked a Senate Inquiry into Scientology proposed by Senator Nick Xenophon.
This result came after multiple media reports on the abuses by Scientology in Australia and abroad.

Here a few videos about this issue, an issue that will be revisited.

Today Tonight reporting on the Senate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lewt_bNLbbo)dropping the investigation with reactions from Senator Xenophon and ex members of Scientology

Earlier reports from February on Scientology from Today Tonight
Feb 22, 2010 Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY5BfZrWU3c) Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AV9RFwjPNQ)
These include Today Tonight in Los Angeles and Clearwater, Florida speaking to ex members, Scientology celebs, and Tommy Davis
Feb 23, 2010 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re9-hyDhPio) More information on Scientology in Australia

Several segments about Scientology from 4Corners (http://www.abc.net.au/4corners/special_eds/20100308/scientology/)

While this particular inquiry if over, expect more attempsts in the future.

Who is abusing Scientology? I am asking because I want to know where to send flowers.

Yes, this the result of the earlier attempt by Senator Xenophon to involve the Senate. For some in the Senate, they appear to think this inquiry would be an attack on religion, but others who voted against an inquiry...it was merely a matter that they did not think the Senate was the right body to have the investigation.

Thanks for fixing my link. I wonder what would be the correct body to investigate scientology? The ideal body would be a police force. Then the ideal result would be criminal charges, resulting in convictions.

The best thing about this story, as always, is the name Senator Nick Xenophon.
