Ok, one of the regular criticisms the pro-war side makes against the anti-war side is that they usually don't propose any new alternatives to war.
Well, have no fear... Deepak Chopra has come to the rescue. (http://gomemphis.com/mca/america_at_war/article/0,1426,MCA_945_1774389,00.html)
His solution: Get the Pope, the Dali Lama and himself (among other celebraties) to act as human sheilds in Iraq. This will prevent the war. Then, once tensions have eased, those human sheilds will somehow encourage Saddam to go into exile.
If I were the pope, my response would be: After you Deepak. Meet you in Bagdad in a few months.

Deepak Chopra, the doctor who is bringing his brand of East-meets-West philosophy to Memphis, proposed Wednesday that the Pope, the Dalai Lama and himself serve as human shields to avoid bombing in Iraq and to rid the world of Saddam Hussein.

What a phony. He made the offer to be a human shield (target) in Iraq only if the pope and Dalai Lama would join him, knowing that they won't.
This is also a shameless attempt to boost his esteem to that of the other two.
Someone should call him on his offer and ask why not do it solo.
P.S. to Seg: You beat me to the punch by a couple of minutes. I've asked Hal to delete my thread on the same topic.

The sad thing was, I found one of his books in my wife's bookcase. I took a look inside and it appeared to be based on uncertainty principle pseudo science.
And now this quack is coming to the largest city near me. Should I find out what hotel he is in and order him 100 pizzas?

Sure. He can share them with the pope and the Dali Lama when they're holed up in Iraq.

DC reminds of that Baghwan (sic) fellow who wanted millions of dollars to train yogic flyers who would have the power to erect barriers that would stop incoming missiles, airplanes, etc.
Ugh!
These guys really need a dose of reality.

So you figure anyone will have the balls to suggest that he go it alone?
What a fraud. Why don't they ask the obvious follow up questions? (They're stupid.)

I subscribe to the newspaper that printed that story. I just emailed a letter to the editor about Mr. Chopra. No hopes of it getting printed, but oh well.

Sounds more like "Iraq's solution to the Deepak Chopra problem". Not that I'm complaining...
