View Full Version : Avatars for TAM 8

Just want to let everyone know that I will be printing up avatar stickers for forum members to put on their badges.
For newer members, get your post counts up and pick your avatars.
I will post an avatar request thread sometime in June to get everyone's avatars.
I am going to try to do a better printing job than last year, I did them very last minute last year and they did not come out as nice as I would have liked.

Make sure you have a printer that can print the proper shade of green, this time.
(Not that I can really the difference. I scored poorly on the color differentiation test.)

My printer does 6 colors and usually does well provided I have time to get it set up right. Last year I did not have that time.

Thanks for volunteering; I was at TAM London, and it would have been much easier to find other forum members there if avatar badges were being worn.
What size image will be best for you to work with? If you let us know now (or when you know, if you need to check printing options, etc.), that will give a bit more time for me to find the original photo and adjust it to size.
(I expect I'll be back to my usual avatar by June.)

Yeah, he copied mine when he was trying to make some kind of point about Darat not letting people use his. Apparently he missed the part where Darat actually owns the copyright to his, so the point kind of failed. He only turns up occasionally to complain though, so presumably he hasn't been back to change it since then.

Have a look in the Humor (sic) section; there are plenty of threads where you can make inconsequential posts to get your post count up to 50, and no-one will think the worse of you. :)

Well, you can publish your post count in the "Post Count" thread. Since it will go up every time you post it, that provides endless fun: http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=125983
There's also the word association thread (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=171943). That helped me a lot. :)

Seriously, you do still have time to get an avatar for TAM, I will probably be printing until the day before I leave for TAM - July 7th is my flight.
I will have the avatars on the Wednesday when I arrive and you can find me around on that day (probably in the bar) or you can look for me at the forum welcome table. I hope to have them all cut out and in some sort of order to make it easy for everyone to grab their stickers.

Actually, this is a little bit of a reconstruction. I had larger versions of all the elements, but never combined into anything larger than 100 pixels, before.

Sorry, just now seeing this. Yes, My Better Half and I will be attending - thanks for asking!
Can you have chocolate? I'm compiling a list of people to whom to give chocolate, and you're high on the list.

Kochanski, please print an avatar for me if it is not too late. I hope to be the hardest one to find in the forumite scavenger hunt (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=6079572#post6079572).
stephenenelson, please add me to your chocolate list if possible as well.

Of course, being that we'll be taking the same shuttle will make it easier for me to pierce that veil. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Aha, but that is a double-edged sword.
Being on the same shuttle just puts you in my "inner circle"

Here's hoping that the July 5th list hasn't been printed yet. This being my fiftieth post, and therefore (I hope) allowing me to upload an avatar at last...

And if I can figure out a good travel edition format, I'll bring Dominion. The only reason I didn't bring it is cause it's so bulky.

Me too. The avatars were a real highlight for me. I spent a lot of time looking for the little squares that would tell me someone was a forumite. That was cool!
Thanks, Kochanski! It was fun to meet you, too.
