Fellow Advocates:
Thank you to everyone who participated in the first week of the Building What?! campaign.
So far, we have contacted 15 of the 51 members of the New York City Council. When we are done with all 51 council members, there will be a big elephant in the room at City Hall. NYC CAN is in the process of meeting with individual council members, educating them in-depth and urging them not to let the elephant go ignored. Don’t expect immediate results, but do expect the seeds we are all are planting together to bloom as public opinion continues to shift in our favor.
On Thursday, 9/11 family member Jane Pollicino sent a powerful letter to one of Council Member Daniel Garodnick’s aides that surely found its way to the council member.
Mr. Pasquini,
I thank you for offering your email address and allowing me to follow up with the issue we discussed this morning. Specifically, I am referring to your asking Council Member Daniel Garodnick to take the necessary measures to investigate the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7. On September 11th, at 5:20 pm, this was the third building to come down and it was the location of the Office of Emergency Management’s Emergency Operations Center.
I am sure you are aware that in 2008 the National Institute of Standards and Technology reported the building’s collapse was due to the fire, however, there is overwhelming evidence from architects and engineers that casts tremendous doubt on these findings. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to visit the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth website or simply take a look at the collapse by googling “WTC 7”.
From our conversation earlier today, it was obvious this is not a new subject and I agree with your comment this issue is a matter of federal oversight. However, this fact does not dismiss the City from getting “on board” with the many New Yorkers who have expressed a desire to get to the bottom of the cause of the collapse of WTC 7.
In addition, as a 9/11 widow I have found the number of unanswered questions surrounding 9/11 is still very overwhelming. So I need to let you know that if we could get to the bottom of just this one issue, WTC 7, it would mean a great deal.
I cannot speak for every family member who lost a loved one on 9/11 but I speak for myself when I say that I would rather have answers to questions, as opposed to not having the questions asked at all. If officials feel that they are being mindful of the pain that they might cause the families with this type of investigation, they are mistaken. At this point, regarding any circumstance that surrounds the death of my husband, there is more hurt in “not knowing” and I would welcome any clarity that an investigation would bring. This is something our city and nation deserve and are entitled to so please ask the questions.
I appreciate the opportunity to give my voice and thank you for your attention in this matter. Feel free to be in touch.
Jane Pollicino
Dear Jane Pollicino,
Please accept my sincere and deep condolences for the loss of your husband.
I hate to imagine how unbearable it must be for a 9/11 family member to see the allegations and insinuations about 9/11 put forward by groups such as Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth and NYCCAN.
I sympathise with your search to find answers. I have been following the claims of the 9/11 Truth Movement daily for nearly five years, and I’d like to share with you the best places for you to start finding answers to many of your questions.
