31st International Comics Festival-Angouleme

I am not a great fan of comics. I took me many years to find the courage to admit that in public. I have felt many times that there is something I miss but I cannot understand this form of Art apart from the classics of course ( Asterix, Ten-ten etc ). I feel frustrated about that because so many people who love comics can't be that wrong.

I enjoy some comics apart from the classic ones but out of a twisted sense of intellectualism I must admit. I like the Art of Milo Manara for example maybe because he prettyfies a very vulgar art; porn.

Anyway . I read today an extensive report about this Festival and of course I didn't understand a word.

I found the official site which is very impressive.

well, back to the topic, I like comics, mostly because of the fun.
My favorite is Los 3 amigos (http://www.los3amigos.com.br/l3a/quadrinhos.htm) (unfortunately in portuguese only), in which the characters represent the 3 writers of the story. Those 3 writers are some of the few that can make me go through the embarrassing situation of laughing out loud while reading a book.
I like Dilbert too, dogbert is very funny.
And there is manga too, it is very interesting those characters with a completely different cultural background. Some dialogues could only happen in japan. The funny thing is that I started to see manga just to make fun of it, to mock my friends who wacthed it. But I start to like it, there are some pretty good mangas out there.:D
Another thing, I like the way they draw manga, and the way they paint it. Some images are just wonderful, specially when they change the background image for some mystical stuff that represents the characters sensation of the moment.
