The link below gives a few details about a sequel to the movie Se7en. Morgan Freeman is supposed to be going after a psychic serial killer.

The mere fact of it's existence ruins many sequels before they are even made. This is one of those sequels. Seven was a good movie, however it was a self contained story that doesn't need a sequel.

No offense, Rand, but how can you ruin something that was already a disaster>?

I have to admit my first post was not so clear. I thought Se7en was decently written and acted. The point I was trying to make is that they have already ruined the sequel by putting a character with "real" psychic abilities in it. Bummer.

But.....it's fiction!

"Real" psychics don't bother Me at all in movies or TV or books as long as they are presented as fiction. As a matter of face, I tend towards sci-fi and fantasy in my entertainment precisely because I want to see these "meta-humans"

It does seem a little out of place as the first movie had nothing supernatural in it. But, are you down on any movie or story that involves the paranormal? I love movies with demons and ghosts and vampires and such. That's where that stuff belongs, in the fiction section. Even bad science can make great science fiction.

from an interview that dates after the news item regarding a seven sequel in the original post

Will there be a follow-up to "Seven?"
There is no sequel to "Seven."

Do you get asked that sequel question a lot?
Oh yes, at every one of these [press junkets]. The answer is always the same. There is no sequel to "Seven" in any manner that I know about. If there is going to be a sequel to "Seven" and I'm supposed to be involved, then it would seem to me that I would know about it.

from this website...

i kind of doubted the accuracy of the news item in the original post when there was also a story about tom cruise insisting on the production crew of The Last Samurai make no eye contact with him on the same page as the seven sequel info.

I love SciFi and fantasy as much as the next guy, but I like my so called "cop dramas" to be produced with a minimum of BS in them. If I can believe all of the plot points have a chance of being real, then it is much less distracting. Know what I mean?
