Supreme Court to Mull Execution of Teens (http://my.netscape.com/corewidgets/news/story.psp?cat=51180&id=2004012610110001522438)
The Supreme Court, which two years ago
abolished executions for the mentally retarded, said Monday it will
now consider ending the execution of killers who were under 18 when
they committed their crimes.
Teens are NOT being executed.. They are, however, doing stuff like this...
The court agreed to hear the case of a Missouri man who was 17
when he robbed a woman, wrapped her head in duct tape and threw her
off a railroad bridge in 1993

It doesn't seem to me, that lying about a prolem. i.e.. " Teens are being executed .. " serves the cause of doing away with capital punishment..

While I oppose capital punishment, I do not think being short of your 18th birthday should be a good excuse for commiting murder..

Currently, states that allow the death
penalty may impose it on killers who were 16 or 17 at the time of
their crimes.
Hell-o

It seems teens are being executed at the present and the Supreme Court is considering abolishing this in the future.

Well, if you're going to assign an arbitrary age to whether it's ok/not ok to give someone the needle, it might as well be 18.

Oh, since the legal process takes many years to complete, they are no longer teens when they are executed, so that is no problem.

At least this is the argument that I've seen on this board a couple of times.

Well hell-o to you too.. It seems?

No one under 18 is being executed..

The question is whether or not, someone who commits murder before they are 18 years old, should face the possibility of being executed.

I feel it is disengenuous to report the issue as a matter of:

' Teens being executed .'
